Not having FSN-HD is an atrocity! I believe it was bought by Comcast and is now called CSN-HD. I understand why AT&T does not have the channel being as how Comcast a direct competitor and the feed price is probably high but this is an absolute must have channel. I am so pissed off that I have a new HD TV and just got U-Verse, now I cannot watch my favorite Bay Area sports teams in High Def. No San Fransico Giants HD, No Oakland A's HD, No San Jose Sharks HD, no Golden State Warriors HD!!!!! This is freakin horrible and if I can not watch my favorite teams in beautiful high def then what is the point of having this service at all? Oh I am so upset and sad about this that I think I am going to have to go back to the dreaded Comcast even though I hate those guys. I really do not want to go back to Comcast but I am afraid I have no choice because I cannot watch my favorite sports teams in high def which is the whole reason why I bought my High Def television.
If there is anyone else out there that feels my pain please reply. Maybe AT&T will get the rights to the channel if enough people express their concerns. I am so bummed out right now about having to go back to Comcast...

Don't feel bad, fellas. Here in Detroit, we don't have FSN-HD either, just SD. They say we're supposed to finally get it in November but, we'll see. I would've thought that by now, Uverse, for as long as they've been in the Detroit area would've had long before and, I heard they did for a short while, then it was gone. Guess we'll just have to be patient.

Some of the RSN HD feeds are available, some aren't. It all depends on where you live and which RSN services your area.

I am in exactly the same situation. Changed to U-Verse in the spring partly for the high-speed internet, but also thinking it would be an upgrade from Dish. Then a few weeks ago my old TV gave out and I finally gave in and bought my first big, beautiful HDTV.
Now I'm stunned to realize that all this whiz-bang technology doesn't get get me SF Giants in HD, and won't be getting me my beloved Golden State Warriors in HD once NBA rolls around again. There goes half the reason to have HD in the first place! It sounds like Comcast not only has the games in HD, but from what I understand they also have the games available for On Demand viewing afterwards.
Not that I relish the idea of going back to the dreaded Comcast, which I had a few years back. But there's something just wrong about sitting there watching Giants games on my beautiful new screen in low-def for gawd's sake, fuming, and thinking about that big chunk of money getting drawn out of my account each month by AT&T (in addition to what they already get from my wife and I for our iPhones).
Thanks for posting about this. I've been meaning to call AT&T, just too busy with work stuff the last few weeks. If anybody on the board has asked them about this, I'd love to hear what they had to say.
p.s. I think I'll post a link to this thread to a Warriors discussion list I belong to, so any of the U-versers over there can chime in if they want.

Yes, we both bought HD TVs, switched to u-verse and now can't watch our favorite Bay area teams play. Isn't that the whole reason to have HD? In my opinion there is nothing better to watch in HD than your favorite spors teams. The fact that I can't even do this is for lack of better works, EXTREMELY DISSAPOINTING.
What can we do about this? I called and asked AT&T if they had any plans to add the channel. She didn't have a clue and all she did was check what channels were currently available, and then told me that the only channel I want (screw all the other channels just give me my HD Bay Area sports) is not available. She was completely in the dark as to if it will ever be added to the channel line up.....
How long can I tolerate watching low def Giants, Sharks, Warriors games knowing that other carriers offer it in beautiful HD? I am afraid I wont be able to tolerate it for very long before I gotta switch carriers again.....man this sux!

No offense guys, but didn't you check the channel lineup before signing up for Uverse? You would have seen that you didn't get your FSN HD (or now CSN West HD [1]767) in the package. I have a good hunch ATT is negotiating for that channel and many other local sports HD channels as they know that is what we want, but you can't expect it immediately. In our case here in the Detroit area, it's floating around that we will see it in November (I won't hold my breath). In my case I switched from Dish to be able to get my HD locals (a tree was blocking the 129 satellite). The HD I have is very good and know ATT will add as many channels as they can. I don't think Comcrap is holding up ATT on CSN WEST HD in getting it, even Comcrap gave in to the Big Ten because subscribers wanted the channel.
Chris
I want FSN Detroit HD (all local sports HD), MGM HD, Speed HD, Travel HD & Weather Chan. HD.
Local on the 8's or good weather w/radar & 5 day forecast -coming soon!

Let me guess.... Are you a working class, red-neck, with a Winobago who plays golf?
Hey, pardner! :-) Pretty much the same here! LOL
Well,... no Winobago atm.

I agree with what was said above, if you wanted those channels in HD you should have looked at the HD lineup before you signed up, that's your fault not U-Verse's. The truth is I'll bet those games in standard Def on U-verse look more like HD than the HD games on Comcrap's disgustingly rudimentary network. It is a matter of time before AT&T U-Verse buys rights to the Dish Network HD channels, if you think about it, that's the only possible solution when they renegotiate the Dish Contract, either that or drop DISH all together and buy the channels themselves. The point is that U-Verse has a forum like this and they probably want to keep it positive and void of silly people that don't read channel guides complaining about channels they don't get and downtalking the service as a whole. It's ONE OR TWO CHANNELS FELLAS. Maybe if your teams were better in that area you would be able to watch the games on local TV. I live in Indianapolis, and I'll tell you I was almost happy when the Pacers went off network TV because it was a waste of 2-3 hours on an otherwise quality network channel. Now that they are getting better, they will probably get some sort of local network contract again.
Not trying to dish out insults about sports teams, just trying to make a point. Read the info BEFORE you sign up, this service isn't for everyone just yet, but in time it will grow into the best value and most robust television service in the US, you just have to be patient.

You are totally right, I should have checked the HD channels to see if it was listed before I ordered the service. I scanned through the channel lineup and like fifteen standard definition FSN channels so I guess I assumed that all of the HD ones were there also....
Well I will just have to learn from my mistake of not checking something like this. U-Verse is a pretty awesome service and has many good qualities. I know it is partly my fault for ordering this service without checking for the CSNBA-HD channel in the lineup but now all I can do is use this board to vent a little.

No. Both channels are SD. CSN & FSN both use the "plus" (or alternate) channel if they want to carry multiple programs at the same time. For example, here in Chicago if CSN Chicago is going to show both Cubs & White Sox games at the same time one will be on CSNC and the other will be on CSNC+. The HD version you would be looking for would be CSNBAHD. Not sure if UV carries it or not. I know they don't carry CSNCHD, though they do have some of the FSN's in HD. I really, really hope they pick up all the RSN HD feeds soon.

I recently had u-Verse installed. I am in Fresno. It took some calls to tier 2 to even convince them that even though my zip code wasn't in their system, that CSNBA was available to me. After I got that straightened out, everything is fine. Now I get CSNBA and CSNBA+ when the games are on. I don't have the best vision in the world, so I can't tell, but isn't CSNBA+ the HD version of CSNBA? Just asking. I had Dish Network before, and the games on u-Verse are much better resolution on even SD.
When I got installed 7/15, my installer Joe and I saw how Uverse SD just blew away Dish's as I still had Dish hooked up. Now to me watching HD most of the time, the SD looks kinda lousy (it's still very good for SD, but doesn't compare to HD). I don't mind not having FSN Detroit HD the way the Tigers were playing, but for the Red Wings and Pistons I want it now. I've heard reference to a FSN Detroit+, but they also refer to FSN Detroit HD, so I don't quite know about the +.

Have you tried contacting FSN or CSN? CSN Chicago responded to my e-mail fairly quickly in regards to my asking about UV carrying their HD feed.

I can't believe that people are on this forum defending AT&T on this issue. I live in the Detroit area and feel completely mislead. I switched from Comcast to find out that AT&T doesn't provide FSN HD. Even after complaining many times to AT&T, I got a flyer in the mail that states AT&T provides FSN HD. I'm sure the flyer is the same one they mail to the entire US, but it made me more mad knowing that some parts of the US have the channel without going through this trouble. And to make it even worse, all of the Detroit Piston's games are now going to be shown on FSN. The entire reason I have HD is for the Pistons. I hope AT&T gets this solved really quick cause they look amature here.
I hope more Detroit AT&T customers call and complain about this. 3 out of the 4 major sports teams have contracts with FSN now. Good luck watching it on your expensive HD TV. If we join together, maybe AT&T will follow the old saying: The customer is always right.

I completely agree with AWinner. What is the point for paying for a sports package when I cannot even see Giants, A's, Warriors, or Sharks games in HD. You would hope with a "Sports package" you would get your local teams in HD. Actually that should be available without the sports package and just part of the local HD channels...but it is not...
The AT&T U-Verse mail in payment address is Carol Stream, IL. I bet they get their Chicago Bulls in HD. Show some love for the SF Bay Area, CA sports pppplllllleeeeeeeeaaaaaasssssseeeeeeeeee.
