As rude and as annoying as you're being? Who asked you anyway? I knew what they offered when I signed up but, I also knew thought they would add it by now. It's been long enough, Uverse should offer it, plain an simple. And if you don't like what any of us say about this issue, then don't read it. Nobody made you enter this thread. Do you go through all the multiple threads about features and chennels subscribers want and tell them to get the hell out? Lighten up a little. Geez, you must have had some wolf cookies and gorilla milk last night.

I aggree... I had a major customer service problem with Direc two weeks ago.
They actually were dishonest.
With them since 1995...They offered NFL packaged for 150..Gave it to me then took it away.
They use to be tops in customer service...Not anymore.
They are the worst now..

Sorry, long post here...
With their newly rolled out service I received a flyer today that an AT&T U-verse demo truck will be just around the corner tomorrow (with free ice cream too), so no doubt I will take a walk over.
Question is this. Should I ask those working this truck tomorrow about Center Ice? Should I take into account whether I get the service in the next few weeks if they give some sort of sales pitch about it “being on the way” or “we should have that soon?” I will not be in the mood to debate the issue with them, so will not go there at the time. I am definitely not going to say all of AT&T/U-verse is bad if they do fib about it, as having a forum like this goes to show how much AT&T believes in their product. Time Warner would not dare having something like this forum set up as on an offshoot of their site.
Perhaps I can see if they can turn on NHL Network while I am grabbing my ice cream, as I am prevented from seeing the Sharks/Caps game tomorrow (TW does not have the channel).

Has anybody got the online version and watch it on your TV thru your computer? Would it be the same as subscribing directly?
Thanks

I use Gamecenter. It is just like subscribing for Center Ice (same price too), but you watch on the computer instead. The quality is very good, and hooking up a computer to a TV to watch is pretty easy as long as you have equipment that isn't older than 5 years.
I like it even more as I work on the road and so I can always catch the games. Highly recommended

Oh and from now on when you sign up with a new provider maybe you should check on the channel line-up yourself instead of relying on what the Rep says.

Because it is perfectly legitimate for a company to tolerate (or perhaps even encourage) representatives who will lie about anything to make a sale.

There is a list of things the AT&T Rep told me that were false. I was given a $10 off for 6 months for my trouble. Whoopie.......

And that is the case with EVERY OTHER PROVIDER. If I had DirecTV with the Sports Pack, I could watch similar pregame shows, but I would still need to order the league's PPV package in order to watch the live games.
Many times, the regional sports networks reair the games, either in the overnight hours, or the next day. These re-airs are usually not blacked out.
My cousin lives in NY, but is a fan of out-of-market teams. He watches the pregame and postgame shows on the regular RSN, but has to switch to the league package (involves changing the channel) for the actual game.

Holy cow
This guy actually talks sense.
Would I move in to a new neighborhood without looking at the crime rates, the school districts, location of shopping/entertainment districts, and other things? Judging by the number of people that sign up with AT&T without looking at their services, many people on this site would.
ZOMG!!!! NEW NEIGHBORHOOD!!!111ONEONEONEONE MUST LIVE HERE!!!! NOW!!!!!

Following this logic, maybe we should simply stop asking legitimate questions of all businesses and professionals, and simply research everything ourselves. I mean afterall, why should I expect a physician or pharmacist to ACTUALLY know what interaction one medicine might have on another medicine that I'm taking. Oh, wait, there is that malpractice issue. Sorry, my bad!
Many people in this day and age don't have the time to do research on much of anything. For that reason, companies hire sales representatives to explain the nature of their products to the general public. While sales reps cannot be expected to represent the negative issues surrounding their companies, it is a general expectation that they will NOT misrepresent the potentially positive things about their company. In fact, there are laws against false advertisement that govern what may be published about a product. A sales rep who says "Yes, we have NHL Center Ice." when they cannot confirm for a fact that such a service actually exists, while not illegal, is unethical. Good sales people understand that their job is to properly represent their products. Misrepresenting for a sale is generally frowned upon by high caliber sales folks.
Peace
Kevin

'Oh and from now on when you sign up with a new provider maybe you should check on the channel line-up yourself instead of relying on what the Rep says.'
Gee, why didn't we think of that. The point myself and others are making is that we did check the line-up and were aware that it wasn't available, then called and asked about it and were told it was coming soon when obviously it is not.
Oh and from now on when you post in a forum maybe you should read the whole thread before you start giving advice.

"Gary Bettman was asked on his radio show about Center Ice and AT&T U-Verse coming to an agreement....Gary responded by asking if U-Verse was part of Fios. It must not be high on his list of things to get done."
It's obvious that it's not even on his list if he doesn't even know what it is. Last week when I suggested that people call to ask him (I can't during the time slot he's in because of work) this was about the last response I expected. He works in NYC and lives in the suburbs. I guess ATT isn't working the Big Apple if he's never heard of it.

Well it doesn't look good. Today, Gary Bettman was asked on his radio show about Center Ice and AT&T U-Verse coming to an agreement....Gary responded by asking if U-Verse was part of Fios. It must not be high on his list of things to get done. The replay of his show should be available on nhl.com in a few days, it was the 2nd or 3rd caller. However, he did say to contact NHL's TV Broadcasting department for an update and our TV service provider. I'm really interested on hearing what issues are preventing an agreement. This morning AT&T said there are now 1.8M U-Verse TV customers, I just hope inDemand network is not blocking this deal to help their owners cable businesses.Message Edited by MacGyver on 10-22-2009 06:42 PM
A couple of us mentioned his showing during the last few weeks, so thanks to whomever asked him. He probably wouldn't take the same question again, but if I did have a chance to talk to him I would want to ask him a follow up. What kind of revenue, if any, does the NHL get from the Center Ice package? In the absence of having the ability to order the package many can go on-line to watch the games (and I am not talking about NHL's Gamecenter site).
I don't blame Bettman for not knowing U-verse at this point if it is not being advertised in the area where he works/lives.

The audio replay of Gary Bettman's 10/22 show is available free on www.nhl.tv. If a video highlight starts to play you can click on the stop button in the video. On the left hand side click on "LIVEWIRE" (your mouse pointer will bring the menu to the top), then on the right hand side scroll down to the archive section for NHL Hour Oct. 22, 2009...click Play
Here's the fun part, it doesn't play right away because they recorded an extra 30 mins prior to the start of the show (60 min show, but 90 min recording). Bettman's show starts at about the 30 minute mark. If you give your computer a minute or two to load the full show, you can click on the progress bar to advance thru the show, the question on U-Verse is at around the 37 minute mark.

Does anyone know if this has been resolved yet? I switched to ATT Uverse in anticipation of being offered the NHL Center Ice Package and as of today, a CSR could not help me with this package. Is this offered with ATT Uverse now?
Thanks!

I am kind of surprised that u verse does not offer center ice , due to the fact that uverse carries the nhl network. You would think that the nhl network would not allow u verse to carry its network without some agreement to carry their center ice package. I am pretty sure that Nhl center ice might be the first package for u verse to pick up since u verse carries the nhl network. The nba league pass and mlb extra innings package might be far down the road as uverse does not carry the Nba tv or mlb tv channel, and u verse would have to carry them before they could even carry the extra innings or league pass package.

It could be that the only reason that UV carries the NHL Network is that the NHL DOES NOT mandate that Center Ice be carried. Since UV has announced (in a postcard a couple of weeks ago) that contract difficulties might mean than NHL Network will be dropped at the end of September, maybe the NHL has begun to insist that Center Ice be carried.
I have never figured out why ATT doesn't carry all of the out of market sports networks (except the NFL which is exclusive to satellite). Subscribers have to pay extra ($100-200 per season) for these channels and ATT would get a cut from each subscriber. These things are win-wins for the leagues and the providers such as UV.

Uverse doesn't carry the out of market sports packages because they don't think enough people want them to make it worth paying what the leagues charge for the packages.[we need to prove them wrong by emailing em and telling em otherwise].
