I have 3 installers putting in u-verse right now, they are telling me that they can use the coax cable and that it works just as good as cat 5. Is this true?

big debate in that ? but my take yeah with reservations :
newer rg6 ?
all connectors get replaced with new connectors even behind wall plates
they test the lines etc to assure good quality
after all is setup they monitor for about 15 mins at least to make sure u are running clean etc
u should be good to go ??
if they have to run a drop then use cat5e if they will imho
my take
randy
ps glad u didnt wait till the last minute to ask
)
^^^^^^^^^^ good read fyi ^^^^^^^^^^^

Cat5 or Coax - great debate. If your coax is in good shape you should be ok.

Make sure they test it first. If they are willing to, have them use cat5. If not, then at least have them try to run new coax. If they won't even do that, at least have them change the endings of the coax. But try for cat5.
