iPhone Scrabble app Wi-Fi not working... Peer-to-Peer help?

Has anyone had success with the iPhone Scrabble app via Wi-Fi mode? Trying to connect to another iPhone/player on my local network (RG) results in a lost connection. The HELP section of the app mentions that "Wi-Fi systems must allow peer-to-peer networking. Some security firewalls may block peer-to-peer connections."

Any help is appreciated.

That one I don't have...there should be contact info on the Buy page for the Developer?  Or have you tried that already?

The Developers I've had to contact have always (surprisingly) written back.

Have you tried temporarily disabling the Windows firewall?

Or allow the IPs of your devices in the MAC filtering page in the RG?

By "lost connection" do you mean you are able to connect, but then can't keep it? If so, it's not a security or firewall problem.

it will indicate that it has found another player. click "ok" and I am immediately told that the connection has been lost. the game is never initiated.

I haven't tried dissabling the firewall... also not at home. The game is by EA. I checked their support page and forums but there wasn't any additional information.

If you are both on your internal network via Wi-Fi, then your Uverse firewall isn't in play at all.

To see if there are connectivity issues with either iPhone, have you tried using the iTunes remote control app with each of the iPhones? If both of the phones are able to remote control a PC running iTunes, then the issue would be with one iPhone not allowing an incoming connection. I'm not sure what the iPhone has for a firewall.

The remote app worked fine, in fact we figured it out last night... one of the iPhones was losing wi-fi when we launched the Scrabble app and was switching to 3G. Once we quit the app and made sue we were both on wi-fi it worked fine.

I still have no idea why one phone kept switching to 3G, but I've read elsewhere that there have been a number of similar wi-fi issues with the 3.0 OS.
