Well I just got everything setup today, and honestly I really can't tell a difference between Digital cable. If anything I think the SD channels look better than digital and HD channels look the exact same. Seems like I have a TON more channels than digital basic (i opted for the U200 package). My only real complaint at all is ON DEMAND is pretty weak in comparison to comcast's on demand service. No free movies at all. Of course if I got the U300 package I'd have a ton of free movies, but yeah comcast had about 30 or so free movies per/month that weren't part of one of the premium packages. But really for that one downside, everything else about Uverse more than makes up for it. Besides I could get the U300 package and break even with my old cable bill, but I think I'll just save the $20/month and start watching more DVD's.
I love the guide, the PIP and i Think the Urge music channels are much better. Also love having a box in the bedroom.

If you like this wait until they launch the other services that are coming in the near future. You will really be happy with your choice to get U-verse. Oh, and by the way, welcome to Uverse.

Welcome to the UV world Cory.
I agree with you about Comcast's VOD. It was an awesome part of the service, even if you didn't have any premium channels. It was the one thing I missed the most when we were forced over to TWC. Plus, TWC didn't even offer Encore on Demand!! Ugh!
Anyway, like RC said, when AT&T starts adding the other stuff, it will have been worth the wait, at least for me, I know it will
Enjoy!

yeah not paying for the box, thats the main reason I switched acctually! Comcast is like $10/month per additional box or something like that.
But yeah I had the AT&T/Yahoo DSL for like 3 years, and then when I got married and my wife moved in she got comcast digital cable. I was paying like $70 for the landline/DSL, and $90 for the digital cable, now it'll be a $100 for both so I can't beat that

I am in North Alabama, Huntsville-Madison-Decatur market. We do not uverse yet, but I hope by the end of the year we do. From everything I have read on this fourm and others I will make the switch from Charter, and be happy to. Thanks for sharing everything, good and bad, it will help me the day I get to make the switch.
