uVerse 2wire RG - iPad & iPhone wifi connectivity issues resolved!!!!

Hello All, I have several machines on my network ranging from IBM \HP laptops,IBM \whitebox PC's, and iPhone\iPad\iPod touche's. Since installing uVerse I have had numerous problems with ONLY my i devces.  I have made (2) changes that have completely fix the issues (wifi would just disappear \ cannot authenticate \ getting ip addr of 169.......) I experienced. In your wireless configuration page http://192.168.1.254/xslt?PAGE=C_2_1 I made the following changes and verified with ATT.

1 - Changed wireless security on RG from WPA-PSK (TKIP) and WPA2-PSK (AES) to just WPA-PSK (TKIP).

2 - Also changed the wireless channel for AUTO to channel 10 (per ATT's reccomendation.

And that was it.  This was driving me crazy so I hope it helps someone else out there....  Good Luck!!

For my iPad I had to trouble shoot till I got something that made both the 2wire and the iPad happy
RG set to ch 10
Security set to only wpa2 AES
Default wireless network key
802 b/g
DHCP
Address assignment PRIVATE FIXED on 2wire
iPad set to static

I turned security off to set up DHCP and when connection was good to go switched to PRIVATE/FIXED. Static(iPad) then did I engage
Security to wpa2-psk. AES

So now the iPad no longer drops Internet when connected to RG
This problem I have had after a week of running fine on Dhcp with mixed security
Iwas connected to router but not Internet would just drop

Thank you so much for posting this.  I spent almost 3 hours with tech support on 3 separate calls troubleshooting this - and your solution was perfect.  I wish they would be more comfortable getting away from the "default" settings and knew of these valuable options that really work.  You saved the day!

You could have fixed your issue much quicker by selecting "Disable" to the Wifi protected setup mode.   Future update planned to make Disabled to be the default mode.

Just used this suggestion and it seems to have fixed it. Thanks for resolving a very frustrating problem!!!

Resolved.....NOT. I tried those settings...Once in awhile I can connect,,,then get dropped, connect, drop. You get the point. Time warner works just fine. Why is it ATT Uverse cannot connect to the most popular devices known to man...Please help...This is sad. $230 a month for phone and $140 a month for Inet and TV and I cannot connect my ipad or iphone...
