3 Reasons not to switch to AT&T's Uverse.
Poor Service
Cannot get to technical support when you need help.
Delay in addressing Problems
September 22nd
Apointment day for instelation. Technician was in another city when he called took over 1 Hour to get to my house. Did not really understand how to hook the system up Took him 6 Hours + to get it working This will become evident in next problem.
Immediatly after he left service whould drop out. After numerous calls to Technical Support thety did not believe me. Finally when I got fustrated and told them they could come get my equipment. They sent a technician out with in 15 minutes she had found the problem my line strength was too low and should havre never been hooked up. My line was bridged to the kneibors house. Another technician had to come out and dig up the network cable where it was bridged Then the original technician came back out to get it fixed. She had dificulty because the bridge had caused damage toi the homes router. after replacing it she got it working.Still have issues with outages.
October 21st
Woke up mopst sevice was out only could get local channels. Tried calling Uverse Technical Support After waiting on hold for over 1 HourI was disconnected. Tried calling back but the auromatic answer system would hang up on me. Finally about 4PM when I called back got a message stating they were having technical issues followed there instructions how to reboot system wellit has not rebooted after 30 minutes
Well back to the Phones
One peice of advice
Do not gett AT&T Uverse service. I am leaving my other house with Direct Way & Hughes Net

Its really bad that you had such a bad install! It all depends on the tech that is installing and 6+ hours is pretty normal for an install. Ive had U-verse since Aug27 and it has been a good experience and the outage today was pretty much a system wide problem from what i can gather. I think that it has been resolved now. Stick with U-verse a little longer before you dump it?

I would have to agree that there are some techs out there that don't deserve to be working for this company!
