If I'm not mistaken, the ConnecTech service agreement is for one year. I am not sure, but I've not heard of any Early Termination Fee for the ConnecTech agreement. I think mainly the agreement just allows you access to unlimited support for $15/month instead of a single instance price each time, which I believe starts at $45.
That being said, you can drop a note to Alex, and he will put you in touch with someone who can help you get the ConnecTech service cancelled.

I tried to cancel ConnecTech service in March of 2011 and was informed I would be charged an 'Early Cancellation Fee' of $10.00 per month for the remainder of the 1-year contract. Be advised, AT&T will automatically renew ConnecTech service for another year if you do not give them 'notice'. I called again two months ago and gave explicit instructions they were NOT to automatically renew ConnecTech; they were NOT to bill me another dime for this useless service. I asked for a confirmation number or something to reference my 'notice to cancel upon contract expiration date of April 12, 2012. They told me they could not give me a confirmation number, but would 'make note of it'. I wasn't too happy about that response, but considering the total lack of HELP from ConnecTech service techs and ConnecTech customer service in billing, I had no say in what they can do and/or refuse to do. This past week I called ConnecTech billing to see if there was a 'note' in my records referencing my call two months ago that they were NOT to automatically renew another 1-year ConnecTech contract and that service was to be cancelled April 12, 2012. I was informed by ConnecTech customer service billing that I had to call them on the date my contract expired, April 12, 2012 if I wanted this cancelled. Needless to say, I was livid; I AM livid. I have no trust in AT&T and I am wondering if they expect me to call at the precise TIME OF DAY the contract expires; what happens if I call earlier or later? Do I have to sit and watch the clock and what TIME ZONE am I to ADHERE TO??? They call the shots! So, you can cancel your ConnecTech anytime you want, just be prepared to pay that Early Cancellation Fee of $10.00 a month for the remainder of your contract. Oh, and do not forget to GIVE THEM NOTICE you want to cancel. Good luck!

I sincerely feel your frustration. The system can only take a cancellation from an agent when the customer calls in. Email me with your at&t phone number and first and last name and I can send to escalations department.

I called the system to cancel and after over an hour to cancel this service and being put on hold I supposedly cancelled but yet got charged again?!! when I accepted connectech I asked if I could cancel at any time, I asked more than once and was assured by the person on the phone that I could. I'm seriously considering cancelling ATT if this problem doesn't get resolved soon, among other things.
Has anyone gone to the BBB or their local news? We have the defenders who look into things I may just have to shoot out a nice email daily until they look into this story.
