So ATT keeps charging me different amounts every month. You see, When I signed up for ATT DSL, I was signing up for a promotion of $19.95 for a whole year. It seemed like a good deal so I went for it. When I called, a rep told me it was good and helped me through the process. I asked if I was going to be in a contract. I asked specifically 3 times. The rep very nice, every time, said no there was no contract and that the price was going to be $19.95 for 12 months. So I signed up. The first month it was all cool $19.95. The months after that have been like going through heck. Every month after the first one ATT has tried to charge me $24.95. I call every single month telling them how I signed up and they apologize and give me a refund. I've spoken with around 6 reps and 1 manager. They have all said to me that the rep had made a mistake when she signed me up and that its not their fault which is funny to me because they're supposed to be a single company. ATT is ATT. I call to speak with a person that's representing ATT, but they only keep blaming her, I don't care who's fault it is I just want what signed up for when I called ATT. Almost all the reps have told me they were going to fix my price so it wouldn't keep happening, even the manager, but it never changes. I still keep calling to this day. I have proof of some of the conversations I had with some of the ATT reps. But today I was fed up and I called to cancel my service because I refuse to keep calling every month and the rep told me its not her fault or the companies fault that I was signed up wrongfully, which I understand, but obviously is not my faulty, and I'm not blaming her I'm blaming the company she's supposed to be representing, ATT. She tells me that I'm going to have to live with the $24.95 payment. So I just go ahead and tell her I'm gonna cancel. Then she tells me something I would have never expected, she says that its fine I could cancel but I have to pay $150. Im like why on earth would I pay ATT $150, she tells me its for breaking my contract. At that point I automatically tell her that I need to speak to a manager, which she tell me there's nothing anyone can do. She tells me I was under a contract, I explain to her time after time that I signed up for a no contract promotion specifically. She tells me again its the not her fault. So I finally give up and hung up. I feel cheated and screwed.

You should, because you were.
You should call the Retention Department. The quickest way in is to call the 2020 number, confirm your phone number when it asks (if calling from your home), and then just keep saying "none of those" to the rest of the prompts and it will connect you to a real human (and American citizen) within a minute or two. Tell them to transfer you to the Retention Department.
Or you can send a message to Alex, he's a troubleshooter on this forum and he will have the appropriate people contact you.To see his reply, click the little blue envelope, upper right corner of this page.
