Any thought on correcting ATT's billing error? I cannot stand it any longer

If you have any thought on correcting the ATT's billing error, please pls pls let me know. I am really disappointed on their dishonest CS.
I ordered a DSL service sometime in Apr/May for 12 months at $30. But then I received a new bill this month in which the DSL fee has increased by 50%. I called last week and ATT's CS apologize for their error, as ATT mistakes the contract and treats it as 6 month contract. She promised me to change it back and extend it for another 6 months at $30 per month. However, I received a letter today notifying my contract period has extended for another 12 months (not 6 months) starting THIS month and the cost is now $38 per month. I am very disappointed on how this billing error is handled, especially it is ATT's fault but not mine. Any idea on how can I make them correct this error?
By the way, if I only pay the correct amount but not the disputed portion, would ATT bill me charge me for late billing?

Did they correct your billing error? I have had the exact same problem for 7 months. They keep saying they will correct the error "next month" and that was 7 months ago when it started!
