My husband passed away and all I am trying to do is change the name on the bill to my name. This is a very stressful time and AT&T is the only company I have dealt with that makes this difficult.
I have been told that I must terminate my DSL line before the name change can be made. (My DSL is through sonic.net NOT AT&T). I know this means at least 4-5 days without internet access which is critical as I work on my husbands estate.
I have also been told if I do nothing (leave it in his name), my phone service will be terminated in 6 months.
How can this be true? I have called and asked to speak to a Manager but had to leave a voice mail. No response after 2 days.
