Every month when I pay the bills I get so **** off again. Between the cell and the "home phone and internet", I'm not even using 2 of the phones.
I've been recently put out to pasture on my job, but corporate greed continues to increase and ATT is the number one culprit.
I looked up all those "other charges and fees" which are actually billed to ATT but passed on to us. Some of those are to assist LOW-income people and institutions like hospitals, libraries, schools, etc. in ensuring they have service!!!!! While I have NO income.
When I had no luck talking to {keep it courteous} customer service and playing the merry-go-round on the site, I went to the store to try to get home phone dropped (which was an option last year, but now would change the price of my DSL service to equal what I'm paying for both now), I was talked into changing home phone to the lowest priced metered rate @ $18.something per month, but after the "other changes and fees" actually comes to $29.+ and I don't even use it!
Same with cell phone...add a line for $9.99? LIE, lie, lie after all those charges and fees.
It seems they're all about trying to make me buy Uverse but I'm old-school...I absolutely refuse to pay for TV. Even if I did, it sure wouldn't be from them.
The minute the "contracts" are expired, I'll be gone...I was a good customer for years until they resorted to these sleezy business practices.
It sounds like I'm not alone either...seems like they would get a clue...they aren't the only game in town...especially if enough of us leave and take our business elsewhere.

I don't like those fees (hidden taxes) either, and you thank our politicians for that crap!
It sounds like they may be phasing out regular DSL in your area and are trying to switch you to Uverse DSL (without TV), which is faster.
Sorry to hear you lost your job, and maybe you can now qualify for ATTs discounted services?
