Modem: 2WIRE 2701HG-B
Expected Speed: 1.5MB
Internet Type: DSL
Wireless Security: WPA2
Normal Ping: 60-80
Current Ping: 200+ (it happens lots of times and sometimes the ping is normal)
All of this started at the first day of June. I have called AT&T Support lots of times. One day a tech called me and said everyone with this modem is having problem and he did some changes on my 2Wire Gateway settings. It did work until a week later. I have stopped using the internet much for over 2 weeks and i checked the gateway settings. I have just realize that tech had put me to, about, 700 kbps incoming this was caused by 172... ip adress. I had fixed this by changing my IP adress (private network) to 192address (not sure if it is safe to put all my ip numbers). The speed had gone a little bit faster but the ping is HIGH.
There is one thing a technician hasn't physically checked my house these few months. I will not want to call AT&T again unless I'm getting desperate. Have been calling them so many times. A high chance that I will be quitting AT&T if this don't get fixed (way too expensive and dissapointing speeds)
Plz change the settings to the best/optimized settings for 2Wire Gateway.

The wireless settings is a little bit off from now since its a few days old and i just switched it today. Just give me optimized settings plz image would be great.

Wow...and I barely used my modem for a year. I heard my relatives bought the modem for $20-$30 few years ago. I don't like how they make bad modems and if they break you have to pay the same price for a replacement one. I should've read reviews of the modem before I bought this. Now the reviews on this modem are horrible.
