I have the same problem as mieah above.
My computer hangs whenever I try to reset the modem password.
AT&T help seems to come from China or somewhere. I can't understand what they are saying. I'm thing of switching by DSL to ComCast.

Welcome and thank you for posting your experience. I'm sorry to hear about the ongoing trouble. Just to be sure, is your PC connecting directly to the DSL modem or are you going through a router? Also, what happens when you connect directly to the DSL modem and try using the reset button on the back of the modem to restore it to factory settings? The following solution may also help..
Troubleshooting your AT&T High Speed Internet connection (May be asked to specify High Speed DSL as your service type to view)
