I can only order slow ADSL in California

I have been trying to order ADSL from ATT.

My address seemingly only qualifies for 1.5 mbps DSL service.

I want faster service, at least 3 MBPS.  It's even the same price. 

By giving me only slow service at the same cost ATT is shortchanging me.

There should be at least 3 MBPS service available, but the online and phone reps keep saying there is a problem with no more high speed slots.

I find this excuse ridiculous and I think ATT should get out there and expand their capacity if that is needed, but there is no way to get this done with the call center. It's gonna take a manager and some technicians to do the work. And it's just not too much to ask.

How can I get in touch with someone at ATT that can do network maintenance so I can get what I want to order?

Can anyone help? 

I am in AC714, zip 92831 in California.   The CO that serves the address is PLCNCA11.

I talked to a tech doing an install in my neigborhood and he said I should be able to get a 6 MB line. But the database says only 1.5 mb. 

So the database is wrong, or ATT are slackers, or something.

Can anyone help?

Join the club, I got the same sub human service 1.5 mbps, ATT is to big for it's own good, the diffrent departments don't know what the others are doing, on the same day I had my dial up on steroids service installed ( btw tech tested line at 29 mbps) I received a letter from att in response to a fcc complaint I had filed it stated they had checked with the case manager and they stated I was in an area where dsl was not available, If they had any communication skills they would of known dsl was available in my area. I think it's time this company get broken up again in smaller parts, give comcast the internet provider side and watch us all have 100 mbps service available.

It turns out across the street from me they can get Uverse, at least 12 MB service.

On my side of the street, only crumbs. 

I talked to the construction manager for ATT and he said they didn't do my side because the box at the end of the street served only 70 customers, and that wasn't enough.  The one a half block south served some apartments with more potential customers, so they passed us by and failed to enhance and fix the wiring for us. 

This isn't over, though.  ATT is going to have to do all the blocks and all the wiring to enhance everything or I will be arguing they have failed to properly maintain their network.

The most interesting thing is no one from ATT has responded to this post.  Nothing.  Even their social media people on twitter had no help.  All anyone can do it look in the database and see what speed the address qualifies for, and no one seems alarmed that all the adjacent blocks get much better service.  They haven't yet taken ownership of that problem at all.  

By the time this is over, they will.

Isn't it sweet  how ATT looks out after it's customers. I've been with ATT from pac bell to sbc and back to att for 51 years and they treat us like crap. All they are concerned with is the almighty dollar no customer support at all.

How did you get in touch with a construction manager? I'd like to give the one in my area a piece of my mind 1.5 mbps service is the new dial up as far as I am concerned.

ATT you ought to treat your customers like they have a choice rather than screwing us when we don't!!!!

I have to thank David and this site for helping me resolve my speed issues, I now have a 12mb profile and will be able to do most of the things I wanted, be persistent and find the right people to help maybe things will go your direction as well.
