I'm sorry that you're having lag when you play online, I know that's frustrating.
It sounds like you had a similar issue with Comcast. Have you ruled out any issues with the way your network is set up?

It's great that you've tested your network in different rooms. That helps determine that the issue isn't because of distance.
Have you done any troubleshooting with the modem and router itself?
