TRANSFER TO DIFFERENT APT GONE WRONG

Apparently my apartment complex only has so many AT&T ports available. I was of course occupying one of them. In the process of moving to a different apartment (same complex, just different apt), AT&T informs me that there are no more ports available. How can this be when I am currently occupying one of them. Why can they just not transfer it? Of course I received NO help from any of the AT&T representatives and one was EXTREMELY rude. Has anyone else had this issue?
