VERY misleading info for free Wireless Gateway after rebate

THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED TO ME. I ordered internet expecting the visa card rebate for buying the modem. I spoke with a representative over the phone BEFORE I ordered, and she confirmed that this is what I would recieve. A week later I followed up via email asking when I should look out for my rebate. I was told to keep checking me email. Well months later I call the reward center looking for my rebate when I'm told because I didn't order phone service I was ineligble for the rebate.

This is the most misleading advertising I have ever seen. It is FRAUD. When I lived in NY I know AT&T was ordered to pay millions in restitution for misleading rebates. Watch out AT&T - I'M GOING TO MAKE SURE THE SAME HAPPENS IN CALIFORNIA.

P.S. IT'S CHEAPER TO USE CHARTER. The only reason I didn't go with Charter was because of this rebate. I alerted my entire apartment community so no one makes the same mistake I did.
