Well, it appears that Washington DC is having data issues again. My data connection has been flakey all day with the usual performance (which I can connect at all) at about 40 kps, not even dial up speed. This is with a Motorola V3xx and 3G. It would really be nice if ATT could finally get their data coverage in major cities to at least operate at Edge speeds, I've given up on 3G speeds. Its really sad, but at least in the DC metro area, Sprint and Verizon have much better data coverage, even if ATT's phone coverage is comparable. I've just dropped data coverage on two phone in my family plan, just no point in paying for coverage that is not there. ATT says that I have already used 100 meg since the 15th, but 95% is probally downloads of somekind (email or web browsing) that never completes.

I have heard a lot of issues with data speed's in Washington DC, I think it's because there are a lot of people on At&t's service in that area, maybe At&t needs to run more fiber to the towers in that area.

They really need to do something. About every three weeks, data is basically down in parts of the city. The best speed I have gotten for the last couple of months is about 300 kps. Previously I use to get about 1 mps. Its frequently in the 40 to 50 kps.

ATT says the problem is fixed, but my phone goes down to edge inspite of a good 3G signal. Once on Edge, it alternates between about 100 kps and 10 kps with lots of latency. This is really pitiful. After almost 15 years with ATT, I ready to give up on them.
