Why? And all the bragging about "fastest network" and 4G/LTE, who are you trying to kid? All I have available is Edge, anywhere near where I live and there are large dead areas right where I need it the most. Your competitors have excellent coverage throughout the area, but I've remained loyal on promises of improvement. But in 4 years, none of the ATT promises to fix it have come true and I'm locked into nearly 2 years before I can change. $300/month you net from me. this isn't customer service, it's robbery. I feel cheated. I have stayed because I'm a loyal iPhone customer and you were the only game in town, but that is ending. Granted I like to duplex data and voice and will miss that but it's not worth the poor service and longer.

nobody made you stay with att. pay the etf and switch to another carrier. Maybe you should move to a bigger city where civilatizon exists? sorry, but like i said, you are not being forced to stay with them. it is your own choice

wait, duplex voice and data? that's 3G only, you can't do that on Edge.

Yes, you are right. I used to have duplex on edge but you not only won't give better service, you took away that capability as well around a year ago when it quit working. I don't notice it so much because I have WIFI so I guess I won't notice it on Verizon either. I am not in the wilderness. I am along an interstate between 3 large cities, Pittsburgh, Erie and Youngstown.

on a more serious note. Att does seem to be rolling out 3g along interstates almost everywhere. Even in Po-dunk middle of Missouri for that matter. Just be patient. The problem is that ATT has many oversold markets in large cities, and 1 screaming individual is not as bad as a whole compared to a whole city of people I.E Chicago, where att is rolling out lte to remove the load from the 3g towers.

Another thing about At&t, is they will be removing 2G/Edge network from the spectrum to have more available space for the 3G/LTE.
I kind of find that hard to believe. In my area we only have Edge and the customer base isn't big enough to have 3G I suppose. Verizon has entered into an agreement with the local cell phone to start providing 4g LTE service. So as much as I hate it I guess I will be moving to them once my contact with At&T is up. I've been with AT&T since 1998 when they were Bell South and the only cell phone provider in the area.
