I found a great DVD to 3GP converter program called PGDVD.  It converts all the major formats and one very important thing, it keeps the sound levels in tact.   It runs $29 but I saw on the site below it was selling for around $20.

I've had pretty good luck using Quicktime Pro to convert to 3gp. It costs $29USD I think.

So, what are the magic incantations to get _that_ to work? I've been doing 'plain-vanilla' mp4 exports and Real keeps choking on them. Have you found any way to get the specifics of what Real wants to see (ie: resolution, bitrate, framerate, etc.) before it'll put something on the screen?

Yep, good luck with that... I think the E62 is just to slow for good video playback...

I've tried and like a freeware encoder called SUPER  from http://www.erightsoft.com/home.html

It converts an exhaustive list of formats and streams to 3gp that run well on my e62.

Yeah but how do you get the movie from Super to your phone?

Easy - connect with your USB cable, or with BlueTooth, or just pull your memory card out the phone (You wouldn't want to do this without a memory card!) and pop it in a card reader and attach to your PC or laptop.

Just make a note of where Super is saving the converted files, then copy them over the the phone.
