Re: Treo 750 bugs?? The Treo WILL NOT RING REGARDLESS!,

[ Edited ]
Well... this finally happened to me tonight. My 750 lost all sound and I missed 2 calls within 15 minutes. Resetting the phone fixed the problem.

Cingular and Palm NEED to get this fixed FAST!

I was having the same problem with my treo not showing the actual call until seconds later. I turned off voice commands and now the calls show faster.

I read in another forum that Voice Command may be the culprit. I have disabled it and the issue has not resurfaced in the last two days. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Are you guys using Voice Command as well?

Re: Treo 750 bugs??

I have had the same issue with no ringing or notification of an incoming call. I do not have voice command activated unless it is on by default.

I am having other issues with lockups, and with the keyboard stopping working which have required 5 soft resets to date (had the phone since Thursday). I am seriously considering returning it, but my only alternative for now would be be the 680.

Another bug--when using the Palm  DSP bluetooth head set, it appears that the phone and headset stay on all the time (with the 650 it could recognize the difference between a headset and a bluetooth hands free car kit.) Therefore it appears that both the headset and phone battery life will be reduced. This sounds like the 680 camera power problem...

I have a whole list of other issues, but may be more related from the change from Palm to Windows OS (think I like Palm better).

Does anyone know if they will have a 3G version of the 750 with Palm OS? I don't feel like being a beta tester for Cingular.

Has any one experienced the problem where you cannot lock the 750's keypad anymore? I keep pressing the shortcut (Option + End Button) but the keyguard app pops up for a second and then disappears. The only way around it is to soft reset the device.

Anyone know why this would occur?

Re: Treo 750 bugs??

Have had 750 for 1 week.  I have had some similar problems, but not exactly as most of these posts describe.  The phone always rings (as far as I know), however:

- I am connected to our corporate email system through MS exchange w/Direct Push.  It has become erratic, with emails mysteriously dissapearing, not indicating "read" status, deletions not syncing properly between server and device, etc.
- While the connection to the 3G network is verified (spent 30 minutes on phone with Tier 3 support), the device won't connect to web anymore.
- When screen is locked, device will dial a number (usually one of my speedials) randomly - I will hear it make the phone connect sound in my pocket - and then it won't respond when I repeatedly press the disconnect key.
- Battery life as described by others, ie less than 24 hours life.  A Palm rep in one of their stores told me to "sync" the battery by removing it, then plugging phone into charger, then re-installing battery and letting fully charge.  It didn't make any difference.
- It is generally unstable...remember Windows 3.1?  Like that.

The Cingular tech support guy told me to take exchange the phone for a new one because several of the problems seemed unrelated and unresolvable, leading him to believe that the device is defective.

Had an early 650, and it, too, was very unstable - unpredictable shutdown/restarts; lock-ups, dropped calls, etc.  After several firmware upgrades, it evolved into a good and reliable gadget.  Hopefully Palm is on this and is working on fixes as we speak.

Ringo does not work with 750 or 680

Beware! Ringo does not work correctly with either the 680 or the 750 -- the aforementioned problem about the ring being gone is a known problem with both phones -- even when Ringo is uninstalled and the phone reset, the volume settings will not return and the phone won't ring.

The bug has been submitted to the developer, but he is notoriously poor at rewriting or updating his software -- the same problems seem to be occuring across the board with WM5 users.
