Keeping unlimited data plan covered, nothing about 1500 SMS plan

So by reading the threads on these forums, I've learned that I can keep my iPhone unlimited data plan that I currently have on my iPhone 3GS when upgrading to the new 4S. However, I didn't see any threads covering my SMS plan. I switched from a 200 to a 1500 text plan when both were available. I do not need nor want an unlimited texting plan and I don't want to pay per text. Can I keep my 1500 text plan when upgrading to the new iPhone 4S like I apparently can with my unlimited data plan? If so, how is this done? I plan on pre-ordering on the 7th through the Apple Store. Will they know the details of my current plans and give me the option to keep them? Thanks.
