Upgrading on the first of the month?

Hi, I was told on another forum that you were eligible to upgrade on the first day of the 20 months after signing a two year contract. If I'm set to upgrade in the middle of July, am I able to upgrade starting July 1st? If so, does that have to be at an ATT store, or can it also be online at Amazon Wireless or at other stores (Best Buy). Thanks!

Any online store that can access the AT&T system should be able to verify your eligibility. I was able to upgrade through Apple online on March 1st even though the day before I wasn't eligible until somewhere around the 20th. The site should prompt you for your wireless number and account information in order to check eligibility.

My experience is that you do become eligible on the first of the month, but until that date, your eligibility in the system still shows the original date. For example, if your date is 7/20, it will show that date until 7/1, when you will suddenly become upgrade eligible.
