Why does every point of contact relate to a phone number for AT&T?

Seriously.... The only way to contact anyone from AT&T is either an 800 number, where you'll get seemingly get no where or hung up on, or a chat representative who never seems to have the ability to look at any previous history on youf account? Can you (AT&T) please stop using post it notes and telegraphs and join the majority of your dwindling customer base in the radical advancements of the 21st Century? Only bother to post a valid email address as a point of contact for your Company. The false hope of a 800 number or chat representative does me nor anyone else any good. Stop lying and start trying.

I was not aware other service providers offered more complex communication options.
