Cheap way to use mobile in USA (for foreign people)

Hi, I'm planning a quite long trip in USA, I need to connect to the web, to the mail and so on, I'd like a suggestion for a plan, a solution, a sim, or a phone or something to buy as soon as I arrive and use for 1 month. Is there a prepaid service for mobile internet by smarthphone or tablet? Is there a way to buy a cheap smarthphone with connection included? I will have my iPhone with me but I need to keep its sim inside to keep connect myself with my countrymen.
I need and advice to orient myself into AT&T offers and choose the right, even better, the best solution.

How much you like to spent on the plan for your one month trip to USA??

Looks like you will need a new phone from AT&T if your iphone need to keep its SIM inside.

Also, Iphone won't work with AT&T Pay as you go AKA "Gophone" plan.

Someone may suggest you go to T MOB or other phone company.But I can tell you they are not as reliable as AT&T.

Do you have an I pad?? If you got one,life will be more easy for you.

You can do all your internet,email stuff on your Ipad by getting an AT&T prepaid data plan on the Ipad .

Than you can get a cheap pay as you go phone from Walmart, Bestbuy,Walgreens etc etc.I saw some for under US$30 before,and some phones may got free minutes inc.

I have no budget, I use to spend my holiday in USA and last time in november, with my italian plan, I spent too much, so I'm looking for a solution. Yes I have an iPad and thank you, maybe this is the solution.

Yes you can buy cheap prepaid phones from grocery stores, drug stores, department stores, convenient stores and other stores people don't normally associate with phones. If you have to go to an AT&T store, you may as well get a cheap AT&T prepaid phone and airtime, and some may include free airtime.
