Finally made up my mind that I will lose 500mgb of data in my account on 5/5/12 (purchased 2 weeks before they changed the rules & never told me!)
The way I see it,they won't get any extra money from me with the new rules.They will be losing the money I was willing to pay for data.
If you can get by without the data plan then stay on the Paygo & help them lose even more money!
I might get a mobile hotspot or a T-mobile sim card for emergencies.Other than that I will use wifi.

And, don't forget to donate any left over money by SMS text before you go. Don't leave any cash on the table for them. I left then 73 cents and 500MB, which is too much, but good riddance.
I'm leaning towards T-Mobile 10 cents (switch to Pay by the day when needed), or Airvoice 10 cents and .33/MB. I'm on TMO Walmart plan for free right now (I had a $25 starter gift certificate), but I know I'm wasting my money paying $30/month for something I don't use. 10 cents per minute and per text is what I crave. ![]()

lose $$$ and lose customers;
just talked to my friends on how att cheated. they had a huge laugh
WHY ATT? WHY?
in papers you say att is giving double data for the same amount ; in reality you are asking 175% more money for the same service ... people are not dumb you .. i dont understand how your VP approved this business decision.

I may have to do just that because I still have a hugh balance and moving to somewhere else is just leaving all that money on the table, so I'll stick with no data until my ballance is depleted at least. It now will take me even longer since I'm won't be buying any data from them.
I'd encouragwe anyone with a significant data balance to try to talk at&t into either extending the data expiration date so you have enough time to burn it or asking for a (partial) refund of whatever you paid for data that you were unable to use due to this change of policy with no advance notice.
Some people have reported having been able to get whatever they bought in data recently credited back to their accounts but I doubt it's the norm. If you just let the data balance expire without protest you are just giving more money to at&t for services they promised under some terms and never dlivered.

I think everyone who is a victime of this THEFT by at&t, should stalk the customer service.
I called yesterday, I am going to call again today. I want my 300 mb back.

ATT sends text messages on use, auto-pay, renewal, and the like, but no notice of changing the plan. Also to note, ATT has my email on the account and still no notification. ATT made a desision to rip-off their own customers by forcing us to increase to a higher priced plan and/or taking their money by taking the data balance if we don't pick a new more expensive plan. There are other choices (See1ink below - change the xyz to three w's - world wide web) and in the future there will be more. So ATT enjoy your profit now because we know what kind of company you are and will keep this in mind when that future comes. Not knowing the plan change, I paid a year ($100.00) April 3rd, so ATT CHOKE that too because I'm out of here and you are not getting any more business from me. I encourage everybody that can afford it to leave now!!! ATT you are stupid penny wise pound foolish greedy slobs.
Just incase ATT notices the 1ink below and blocks it, just google gophone alternatives and you will find it.
