Nokia Go-Phone Broken. Cannot get password to my account.

Hello. I have a Go-Phone that broke. I need to get the password to my account, but it can only be sent to the phone with an SMS.

I tried to put the SIM in another AT&T phone, but it won't read it. I was reading up on the internet and it says that the SIM gets "locked" to the original phone for six months. I only had the phone since late August.

Help would be greatly appreciated!

call customer care see if you have an e-mail on the account if it is and has been on for 30 days w/o change they can send a temp pass to that e-mail.  Otherwise you must go to a Coperate location. .... the sim card is probably not locked unless it was asking for a PUK code and you entered it incorrectly 10 times. Customer care can give you that as well as getting it from your my-wireless account when you can log on.

The problem is that I cannot call customer care. My Nokia was the only phone I could call off of. I wish i didn't have to use a 4 pin password. I could of remembered something that isn't all numbers.

In that case security is security for a reason... lol cant make it easier for ya. you have to go to the store and show id. they will change the passcode there... make sure as well you add that e-mail address on file just in case its not for spam crap. as far as your broken phone just go to wal-mart and get another prepaid for 29$ and stick your sim in there.

I'm pretty sure I have an e-mail on file. I get e-mails from AT&T everytime my balance is low. I do have another phone as I said, Its just that the SIM is locked to the Nokia.

Going all the way into town to an AT&T store is a drag. (I live at least 20 mins away from an AT&T store) I guess I'm just gonna have to go to the grocery store and buy a tracfone or something. I just wish there was an easier way to just take my SIM and throw it into my other phone.

when you put the sim in your other phone what does it say???

It says registering SIM and just sits there forever. I let it sit for 3 hours already and it still did not go away.

was that sim working in your prepaid

what type of phone?

fyi, prepaid sims are locked to the device they are activated with.

I don't remember the process for pre-paid  to reset the passcode when you can't get the text. Should be able to visist a store location to get help with it.

The phone is AT&T. Its a Pantech phone with a slide out keyboard from 2009 or 2008. The SIM worked fine in the Nokia. I broke the screen on the Nokia, so the SIM did not get wet.

I just thought about it but that sim you were using in the prepaid phone... did it come with the prepaid device... b/c sim cards that come with prepaid phones are locked to the prepaid phone and can be unlocked by customer service to use in other devices. Sim cards you get with new post paid phones and from att cor stores are not locked to any service. .... THIS is probably the case.

That is exactly my case. I bought the phone through Radioshack as a package. It came with the phone and prepaid SIM.

If you call Customer Care at 1-800-331-0500, they may be able to help with both releasing the SIM card for use with other devices (I don't know what the requirements for that are) and as posted previously, with the online account access.

You appear to have internet access.  There are services (including, but not limited to, Skype) that allow you to make phone calls from a computer.  I don't know if any of those services are free.  Usually if you get the basic service with no recurring fees, outgoing calls are a few cents per minute.  A VOIP service may or may not be the best option for you, but it is an option in addition to going to a store.  I used Skype when I had to call from another phone to activate my new one.
