I have to ask you for more information because I myself have had the $25 plan and the 200MB data plan for less than a month. Having said that, I will now give you my best answer.
" i know i can refill the data package by refilling money to my account "
Are you already signed up for auto renew of the data package? Please provide us more information.
"do i just put money in my account and they will automatically renew my $25 plan?"
The first condition is that you will need to have enough money in your main account. Regarding auto renew for the $25 plan, you can look at your account summary on your phone by using AT&T Mobile Care app. It will indicate if auto renew is active.

no i havent sign up for the auto renew but i know i could just put money from my credit/debit card into my account and just add the features (i.e. data).
i was just wondering about the $25 plan since in the "manage my account" tab there was option for us to add/buy features such as text and data but i do not see where we can buy the plan. so now im confused on how will my $25 monthly plan be renewed after expiration.
thanks for answering

I am guessing that the $25 monthly plan should auto renew. On my phone, it says auto renew right next to the expiration date. It seems that you have a smartphone as you mentioned the 1 GB data plan. That's why I suggested using the AT&T Mobile Care app.
By the way I bought the $25 plan and the 200 MB data package using the AT&T Mobile Care app on my smartphone during a trip out of state. I have not used the online account management for renewal or refills but I used OLAM for checking my account status.

I'd guess that in a network you will likely have latency and congestion.
I'd appreciate it if you can verify online whether or not the account management system provides an indication for auto renewal of the $25 monthly plan.
