12.0 Volt DC, 2.9 amp. You can see this as the "DC Output" on the bottom tag of the 2Wire AC/DC adaptor for the RG.
Instead of buying a specific UPS/BBU for the RG why don't you buy one you can run any AC electronic device off? Then you can plug the RG AC/DC adaptor cord into it, or even the existing Belkin BBU into the new UPS. You could even charge your cell phone, which doesn't draw much power, off of a larger UPS if needed.
Just a thought and good luck.
edit: the above info is for a regular NID installation. If you have an iNid install that is a whole different type of "BBU for iNID Power Supply Unit" which can seen in the below link. Notice they say you might want to shop for a UPS if you are wanting to connect your computer and have it working.

You're welcome and shop around online. You shouldn't need that large of a UPS to extend the service of the RG while also possibly charging a laptop and/or cell phone.
Good luck. ![]()

A good battery backup unit / BBU will normally have surge protection as aprt of the unit. The surge protection may save your equipment from the reason you have the power failure. Like a close by lighting attack.
The battary backup vendor APC does not recommend stacking battery backups to extend the power. Two 4 hour backups do not give you 8 hours or backup.
Also remember when the battery backup no longer charges at the end of its normal life it is the customers responsibility to repace the battery.

Yeah, I remember.

Agree, but regardless what APC says I do not see anything wrong with connecting the Belkin BBU to a larger UPS unit. The Belkin BBU mentioned was designed specifically for the RG and functions as an AC/DC converter. It also supplies the exact needed voltage/amps to the RG while other BBU's/UPS's may not.
Besides if the OP buys a UPS as suggested, with AC outlets, they will be able to connect a computer, cell phone charger, etc, to it so they can use it for other devices during outages.
Agree it wouldn't make much sense to buy multiple Belkin BBU's and try to stack them at $130 each. Beside not giving you double the power I have not heard of a single unit supplying 4 hours of power to the RG as they are supposed to.

The customer would do better to use the UPS as a separate power source for other equipment.

How about an AC adapter to replace the BBU and supply power from UPS to RG? Does ATT have these adapters?

Not quite sure what you mean since the RG, DVR & STB's are all 12V DC. There's already a converter/adaptor in the power cords which changes the power source/supply from 120V AC to 12V DC.
If you have an UPS the outputs are 120V AC. So you would just use the same power cord to connect the UPS to the RG. In fact that's how I have my RG connected to my AC house current and bypass the BBU altogether.
Not sure if this answered your question.

The BBU being supplied now by ATT has only the 12V output cord to plug into the RG. If you want to supply 12V power to the RG with some other UPS that only has 110V recepticals for output, then you need a 110V to 12V adapter to connect the othe UPS to the RG. This is for the inevitable time when the Belkin BBU fails, or you just want a higher capacity battery power.

OK
Several important pieces of info for all the concerns above.
1. Our power was out for 6-1/2 hours when Tropical Storm Lee came through and dumped 10" of rain and winds here. The newest version of the Belkin Batery Backup, the BU3DC001-12V, lasted the whole time, our U-verse Voice phone worked, as well as our laptop worked on the internet the whole time. So we are just going to keep additional Belkin BBU's charged up for the future.
2. Price of the BU3DC001-12V; while new they may be around $150, go to ebay and search for this model number and you will find MANY that have only been used a few months for $20 including shipping. Hard to beat that with a normal UPS of the same capacity.
3. While on ebay, search for the latest Gateway; 2WIRE 3801HGV, and you will see that the regular AC adapter with it is: 1000-500200-000, PSM36W-120TW for around $10 slightly used.

That's pretty amazing your BU3DC001-12V lasted 6 1/2 hours in using UV Voice and your laptop for internet. Belkin rates the battery in this unit for only 4 hours of back-up in using just Voice phone. You must have a good one.
I saw them new on ebay for $20 in the package w/$9 shipping. Used on Amazon for $5 with $15 shipping. LOL, the shipping is 3 times the price of the unit but guess that's typical for some products.
Glad you weathered the storm and flooding from Lee.

Any quality BBU has a built in surge protector. As well, pretty much all BBU and surge strip manufacturers will void your warranty if you plug it in to another surge protector of any type or configuration (including Belkin) like a BBU into another BBU or BBU into a surge strip. Two surge protectors in series could render both ineffective.
