My main use of the 2250's ethernet port would either be for a PS3 or a internet-ready TV. Would this work for either, and are they any drawbacks in conneting to the DVR's ethernet port?

It can be although the use of the ethernet port in that way is supported by U-verse.

Ok, thanks. I'd prefer not to move the DVR, so I'll try it out and just see how it goes. ![]()

FWIW my Panasonic Blu-Ray has been using the ethernet port on my DVR (a 1225, if I remember the model # correctly) since June. I have never had an issue, even when the DVR is recording one or more shows and I'm streaming VUDU or Netflix. I've run speedtests through both VUDU and speakeasy.net (by hooking a laptop to the DVR's port) which confirm I'm getting my full bandwidth.

The long and short answer is yes it will work and it can run error free. I have also seen it where it creates error on the box and will degrade performance. It is not supported and when having issues with a box that has other devices drawing the signal off it, don't be surprised if a tech will remove that device and retest to see if the error has gone away.
