DVR IS FREEZING ON A SCHEDULE PROGRAM

10/24/2011 MY schedule program (Hawaii 5 O) is freezing on playback which was looked at in the evening. This issue has also happen on a recent purchased on- demand movie. I have had techs out on the 10/19 and 10/24 and they replace the gateway but not the DVR and said that my system is fine. Could the DVR box being going bad?. Also for everyone information I record a program while watch TV and it record great. Any one have any ideas.

Generally a freeze is on the stream and not a problem of the DVR. Any freeze I've gotten will just start again usually w/in 5 seconds or less. I don't watch the programs live I record as I'm at work when most record, but if I watched them I would not be recording them too. ![]()

A futher explaination. The program stopped and freeze was a scheduled recored progam which I played back at a later time the same night.. The total recored time was one hour and 3 mintues.. When I played it back it stopped at 7.05 minutes and would not go forward. Is this not the DVR problem? I do undestand the streaming issue but the recored progam would not continue.

I could not fast forward past the freeze just stayed frozen on the screen. I did record some scheduled shows without problem last night. Also ATT technical support contacted me and a service tech replaced my main line today which was original installed by a building contractor who did not use a Cat 5 cable . The feeling is this should solve the problem.

We have been experiencing the same problem on several of our recorded programs. Went to chat on att.com and after working with the first support person they transferred me to a tier-2 tech. He determined that we probably need a new box. One is on the way. So if you continue to have this problem I suggest you contact Uverse.

My VIP2250 was doing the same thing and it became worse & worse, they just replaced my 2250 with a downgraded VIP1225 which has only half the hard drive (which I am calling sales about in the morning), so far the problem hasn't happened with the 1225 (yet) and the last tech I complained to about being downgraded said the phone techs now have no control over which DVR gets shipped out,
For what I am paying now for TV & Internet I could buy a new laptop each month.

I am beginning to wonder if the 2250s have problems for the most part. The complaints I have seen as well as my own were problems related to watching recorded programs. I got the 1225 also, and I have not had any problems with it since I got it. Right now I will take quality over quantity, especially if it means my DVR works properly. If you would like to get another 2250 send Alex a PM he is an ATT Community Manager on the forum.
