For the love of god... please fix the audio

So I've had U-verse for about 3 months now and there's STILL no fix for the audio dropouts on HD channels. Right now I'm watching the NBA playoffs on ESPN HD and the audio is dropping out about every 30 seconds or so for about 1/2 second.

Like most, I'm running optical out of the STB to my reciever.

PLEASE AT&T, I'M BEGGING YOU TO GET A FIX FOR THIS ISSUE!!!!!!!

have you tried to run HDMI out? i use HDMI and have had NO troubles at all. Good Luck!

HDMI out is broken as well - it doesn't pass 5.1 digital, only stereo.

I think most of us are having trouble with audio on the HD channels.  I'm not sure why that is.  I know I wasn't able to hear most of Saturday Night Live tonight on NBC-HD.

Mark did you connect the stb to your tv using the composite outputs?

Everything you can think of I've done, but I am positive it's a problem on the other end.  I feel at some point there will be an update that will fix the issue.  I'm not sure if the new Cisco boxes are any different than what we already have.  It will still have WindowsCE and still have the same issues imo.

The boxes run the WinCE operating system because of the MIPS processor on board.

I guess that they could go to a Linux kernel instead, but that would kill the partnership with Microsoft pretty quickly.

I don't have audio dropouts so much as I have occasional problems with audio/video not syncing up.  I feel like I am watching KungFu Theatre when they don't line up.

I have both, but the synch issue is worse for me also than the drops.

I have had sync problems as well but it has only been on certain channels and at different times.  No audio drop outs here either.

We had problems with ABCHD while recording Lost last week. Dh switched over to the antenna, and found that it was the exact same thing with OTA ABCHD. So it seems to be ABC, not Uverse (in that specific case).

ABCHD is the only channel we seem to be having problems with.

I gave up and run stereo in Dolby Pro Logic IIx.  It's okay but true 5.1 would be best.

I just Bought my Tivo2 Dvr on Ebay for  $57.00 New..And I already Love it..But I still can't get U Verse on my block even though my friend has it down the road..They say it may take a couple of monthes..Even though they say it has been availiable since Dec.2006 in my area..So i hope my Tivo well work w/ U-Verse..Cause I'm really tried of Dish..They wanted to charge  me $100.00 for a Dvr..Even though I have been a customer for 7 yrs.What a Rip off.So Please Att get it to together and give me my U-Verse..

I could be wrong, but I don't believe you can use your Tivo with UV.

I think it's only version 3 TiVo that doesn't work with UV?

I second this.  AT&T please fix the audio drop problem.   You advertise the product as "advanced TV" - advanced TV should be able to do advanced 5.1 audio!

THE AUDIO OPTICAL HANDLED BY THE MICROSOFT TV2 CLIENT VERSION: 1.2.43048.3 (RELEASE) HAS NOT WORKED SINCE LAUNCH, AND EVEN NOW IT WILL NOT WORK CORRECTLY UNTIL MAYBE 1st QUARTER OF 2009 PER MICROSOFT WITH RELEASE OF VERSION 1.6.3 CLIENT (EMAIL FROM TIER 2 SENT TO THEM AND THEN ON TO ME)
THIS CLIENT IS ON ALL MOTOROLA STB/DVR BOXES AS WELL AS THE CISCO BOXES.

HD/SD HAS PROBLEMS THAT CAN BE SEEN ON TOSHIBA TUBE SETS RUNNING HDMI 1080i, FLAT PANEL 1080i AND EVEN AT A U-VERSE RETAIL STORE HERE IN ST. LOUIS **NOTE THE ONLY ONE IN THE ST, LOUIS AREA WHERE YOU CAN SEE THE SERVICE** AND IT IS RUNNING ON A DELL FLAT PANEL WITH RGB ANALOG IN USING 1080i.

I HAVE BEEN WORKING WITH AT&T FOR MORE THAN TWO MONTHS ON THE HD/SD PROBLEMS TRYING TO REACH THE R&D PEOPLE WHO HAVE NOT RESPONDED TO AT LEAST TWO EMAIL ATTEMPTS BY MY TIER 2 SUPERVISOR CONTACT.

THESE PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN WITH THE SERVICE SINCE THE PRODUCTS LAUNCH.

WHAT I AM SIMPLY SAYINGS IS THAT AT&T IS CHARGING CUSTOMERS FOR A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT WHICH IN SOME CASES WILL NOT BE FIXED MAYBE UNTIL 1st QUARTER  OF 2009 AND THE HD/SD WHO KNOWS WHEN.

THIS IN MY OPTION IS FRAUD!!!!
WHICH I BELIEVE IF PRESENTED TO THE FTC WOULD SERIOUSLY GET THEIR ATTENTION AND THEN DEFINITELY AT&Ts.
