We have one TV/STB that gives us trouble with the UV remote: We have to push the volume button four times to get the volume bar indicator on the TV to move once. If you want to increase volume from low to high or vice versa, you need to keep pushing the button four times for every increase/decrease. We can't hold the button down and have the volume increase/decrease gradually. I'd say it was a problem with the TV, but the TV remote's volume button works fine. I called TS and they sent another remote, but it operates the same as the old one. TS had me reset the STB, but it made no difference. The other TVs work fine. Any thoughts?

Richie, did you put fresh batteries in, as low batteries can cause goofy remote problems especially w/TV portion on low voltage. ![]()

Also.....what type of TV is the one that is giving the problem? If it is a plasma there can be issues with IR interference that causes strange remote behavior. Some of the other folks on here have had experience with this and have solved it so maybe they'll jump in with a suggestion after you reveal the TV type.
I forgot to mention that also....a strong fluorescent light source in the room....near the TV....can also cause problems with the IR remote sensor on the set. I know about that one personally.

I thank all you folks for your responses to my problem. Some of you had questions and I'll answer them in order:
I tried all the remote codes for our Sylvania TV and there is only one that works - 1279. That's the same code we've used all along.
We've got an old CRT non-HD 13" Sylvania set.
The batteries in the remote are new.
There are no fluorescent lights near the TV, which is in our kitchen. There are halogen under-cabinet lights near the TV, but the problem persists whether they're on or off.
Any other suggestions? I appreciate all your responses.

Program the remote -
att/ok keys - 955 - enter key (bottom right aka zoom)
Watching TV with this setting the att key is in control and varies volume. If you press TV it will vary tv volume.
