If you have an HDTV, you can only get HD w/HDMI or component. I think if you plug them in, they will ungray and
be usable on your TV menu. Then you have to find the correct aspect ratio on the Uverse box (720p or 1080i) and
on the TV also as the Guide should not be cut-off. Good luck ![]()

On the U-Verse box, change the resolution to 1080i, and on the TV, change to 16:9 widescreen if that is an option.

I had Uverse installed yesterday. My guide is also being cut off on the sides and I can't seem to fix it. I've tried the 720 and 1080 aspect ratio settings and have played with all the combinations of screen size on my Pioneer 43" Plasma (1024 x 768 I believe, if memory serves).
I've tried both HDMI (crappy colors) and Component (much better color spectrum), but the guide is getting chopped either way.
Anyone have a fix? Uverse phone support is useless on this.
Thanks!

Make sure you do not have your picture zoomed on either the TV or the Uverse box and as Some-Joe has pointed out select 1080i in the menu for Uverse box.

I thought I'd pop back to say that I finally figured out that Uverse had NOT turned on the HD feed that they were supposed to at install. I talked to a technician (Level 2, get away from Level 1 as fast as possible) that figured out that my config was incorrect.
That didn't explain why the blue HD light was ON, but hey, it works now. So, if you are seeing your Guide cut of, find out if you have HD enabled on the feed.

The blue light appears on the DVR or STB whenever the aspect ratio is set to 720p or 1080i high definition. The blue light will remain on regardless of whether the program you are watching is in high definition or standard definition.
