Can you download and install SomeJoe's tool at the link below?
http://www.uverserealtime.com/
Once you install the tool, please post screenshots of the following tabs: IP/Profile, Error Table, Bitloading, & Coax/HPNA.
We can take a look at the screenshots to see if there appears to be any issues with your system.

Get rid of Norton and get MS Security Essentials, it lets everything legit install w/no problems.

We've been having the same issues with our Moto 2250 DVR. It seems to restart at least once a day an is about a month old. We have FTTP so the error checking doesnt work for Uverse Realtime. The whole house is Cat 5e and no coax is being used. I'm running HMDI from the DVR to the TV which is a 50" Sammy Plasma. I am using a GS105 to split the feed to the blueray and the DVR. From the other board, got the thought that heat may be an issue and have since moved it out of the cabinet with no other electronics nearby and it still has the issues. There seems to be the thought that this is a software bug in the box. Any other ideas? Would all the 2250s be affected?
Tried to be as detailed as I could but let me know if I left out any needed info. It's annoying to me but driving the wife nuts.
Any suggestions are appreciated..

I have seen a post from a Uverse tech that they are starting to download to the 2250's an upgrade that will supposedly fix the problems, getting done by 4/1. He did not have or seen the schedule of what markets would be getting it when. ![]()

They're mass-updating an STB and the RG's in the same timeframe? Boy, when did they get that brave?

I lately have also been having alot of problems with my picture freezing for a few seconds and then catching back up. The sound is fine when the freeze happens. It happens randomly but it seems like its more frequently now. I reboot of system will temporarily fix it but it always tends to pop back up. It is getting very annoying. Can somebody please take a look at these screenshots to see if something is going on? I have an iNID on the back of my house that goes into an indoor 2-Wire gateway (it goes in via Coaxial but it is converted to Ethernet in order to connect to indoor 2-Wire). From 2-Wire all connections to receivers and routers are with CAT5. Thanks in advance for the help

Based on your screenshots, it appears that you have an issue with one of the coax connections. Call Technical Support on the number shown in my signature and have them run some tests on your system.

Thanks. I have somebody coming out this afternoon. So based on my screenshots, how does the rest of it look? So it only appears to be a connection issue with the coaxial cable. Last night it was very very hard to watch TV. It seemed every 30 seconds, the picture would freeze for a few seconds and then catch back up. Even the sound was off and not synced with the video. It was like watching an old Japanese flick lol

Just disable Norton while you do the install, then reenable it.

Looking good.
You've got much better bandwidth in the low frequencies now, allowing most of your upstream to be done down there. And your HPNA doesn't have any red bandwidth numbers.
The proof is in how your service works, though. How is that?

Great. Quick question though.... i current only have two receivers... with one being an xbox 360. My current set up has the Coaxial from the iNID going to my main DVR while a Twisted Pair from the iNID goes to an indoor gateway, which feeds all my interenet items, plus my xbox 360 via ethernet. My question is, would it be better for bandwidth, etc to split the Coaxial to go to both my main drv and my xbox (convert coaxial to ethernet before hooking up to xbox) or just keep my current set-up? I was told it was best to have all receivers running off Coaxial but with xbox 360, it only has ethernet, so that is why it is hooked up to the indoor att gateway. Thanks!

U-verse is very flexible in the number of ways it can be connected & everyone has an opinion on what is" best" for each individual case. But, whats the story when you get different combinations?
I have neither X-box as a receiver or an INID so I can only speculate on how they work based on the history of postings
With a NID, some prefer coax to the RG some say cat5. I believe there were some posts saying cat5 is the standard. Mine is coax.
I believe HPNA (coax) TV distribution is more delicate than cat5 & it is best to place the DVR close to the RG connected cat5.
Since an x-box is cat5, it should be "better" to connect it directly, rather than via an HPNA converter. Just for the sake of simplicity. But, att provided HPNA converters to use existing coax.
With INID, I believe I saw posts saying TV must be coax. The inside unit is for internet access only. So an x-box qualifies, but does an x-box as a receiver qualify? If you are happy with it then it does.
But, you can try other options if you care to.
Try an HPNA converter on the coax. If you can get one.
Another possibility is the ethernet jack on the INID. This is not used because the default is off. You would have to turn it on & also turn it on again if the INID is rebooted.

I don't think this is a supported configuration. Aviewer points this out, too.
In an iNID installation, the standard configuration is that a COAX does the IPTV and the link to the i38hg only contains HSI and VOIP traffic. This is because the i38hg, unlike the 380x, doesn't handle the multicast switching properly. This means that anytime the XBOX has the Uverse software running, your network is getting flooded with multicast packets, with the potential to play havoc.
So, I don't think you should have your XBOX connected via the i38HG, but via the COAX directly back to the iNID (like the DVR).

so you think i should just split the coaxial coming off my the inid between my main dvr and xbox 360? with the xbox 360 having the coaxial converted to ethernet? I just had a tech over to fix some issues and he left my configuration how it was with xbox connected to the indoor router. if i change it, will xbox 360 still get proper internet connection?

Yes. When an STB is connected coax you can plug an x-box into the network jack to get internet access, so that portion of the signal exists on the coax.
Also, the HPNA adapter was provided for that type of connection of the x-box.
Just be sure to use an att splitter or equivalent. The run of the mill splitter may cause problems.
I realized you had techs out who saw your config. Maybe they did not realize you were using the x-box as an stb.

A tier 2 tech was able to provision my xbox 360 over the phone. The only thing i have is what a previous tech used on my previous set up... where he converted teh coaxial to connect to the indoor router... this converter has a coaxial connection on one end and 2 ethernet type connections on the other. im hoping this can be used to convert the coaxial to ethernet to my xbox 360. otherwise, are there any coaxial converters out there that can be recommended to work. Thanks
Did you pay the $99 fee for the xBox Kit? If so, a tech should have delivered all of the components included in the kit including the hpna adapter.

Since you never purchased the xBox kit, AT&T is not going to provide you with an hpna adapter. You will have to purchase your own.
How were able to get the xBox provisioned without paying the fee? I understood that part to the fee was a licensing fee paid to Microsoft to allow the Media Room software to run on the xBox.

Are there any adapters out there that you could recommend? I just spoke with a tier 2 tech and told him i already had a remote and the cd and just need to have my xbox provisioned to work and they did it. This was done over a year ago. At the time I had my xbox connected to the indoor router and thhings worked fine. I didnt think I needed the hpna adapter. but since i have an inid setup, it is not recommended to do this and I am just looking to do this set-up right.
