I have started losing channel 1002 on various set top boxes. The Standard Definition counterpart, channel 0002, always works. The STP shows the proper channel designation, but the screen is black. When channel 1002 is out on one STP, it works OK on all the other STBs. Re-booting the affected STB always does the trick.
If it were only one particular STB, I would think the STB is the problem, but this problem shows up randomly between 3-4 different STBs. It's always the same channel, 1002.

Have you tried pulling the plug on the DVR (or next time it happens)? (wait for 30 sec., plug back in)
That channel in my area is NBC. I have the problem you describe on all Network channels where HD flakes out (black screen), but SD is just fine.
If you can tell us what the station is/your area, maybe someone else can check for you and see if they're seeing it as well.

Been having the same problem on 1002 for over a month. Included this problem in another thread I started on 4-28 titled "Wireless receiver dropping while watching DVR program". It is not happening daily as before but still at least once a week.

spd2demun,
In my area (Atlanta, GA), 1002 is the local ABC affiliate (WSB-TV). I 've never experienced this problem with the TV connected to the DVR. It's just on various other STBs. What's baffling is that it affects only one STB at a time and is ramdom as to which STB is affected.
When you reference pulling the plug on the DVR, do you mean the power connector or the CAT5 connector?

Sometimes the boxes are not processing the channel codes correctly. rebooting the boxes resets the codes. This is a know issue and will be addressed in the next update

If that's so, why are they usually recordable? Must be getting the right codes to record, it's a bug in the MS programming that won't show the channel. Interesting I spoke to Alex on this subject and he stated they are working on it, but don't have a solution date. ![]()

Maybe the codes are different for Live TV, Preview and recorded TV, on each channel? I have also heard that it was tables(?) or something at the VRAD not resetting. A reboot or some random period of time, will fix it. I have ONLY noticed it on the DVR.....
