Tech called at 11:30, arrived at 11:50. Finished at 3:00! I was impressed after reading 5-8 hours.
Ran home run on existing outdoor coax that I had installed a few years ago to RG in daughter's bedroom. (one STB in this room as well) Backfeed back to outside diplexer, then coax to splitter (outside) One coax outside to son's room (STB), and one coax to attic. This splits to three more coax (2 STB, 1 DVR).
I personally thought this was kind of hoakie, but it works great!
RG booted right up. I am running desktop PC wirelessly along with a notebook, and both are working great. (notebook right now says 54Mbps, RG upstairs, me downstairs)
First thing I wanted to look at was HD quality. I must say I do notice a bit more compression issues than you do with cable, but it seems to be channel related as well. Some channels look fantastic, like FoodHD and ESPNHD. Others don't look quite as good. I still haven't seen football yet, so we'll see. The tech did leave an HDMI cable along with a component cable, so we hooked them both up to compare. I feel the component looks the best, and, the HDMI lost sound once. I am noticing while switching from HDMI to AV1 (component), I lose the aspect ratio setting on the DVR box. Each time I switch, it defaults back to 480. Anyone...??? Also, my panel is 720p, but I set the aspect ratio once to 1080i to see what would do, and it looks great!! I'm going to leave it like this for a while and see.
I programmed the DVR from the web. That worked, and was cool.
Overall, I will give AT&T an A-minus. If the HD quality was not so compressed, it would be an A-plus. This of coarse is if everthing keeps working. In the future, I personally would rather have 1 HD signal of high quality than 2 half a$$ signals. It just makes watching HD more enjoyable.

Well, today is football day, so we'll see what happens.
I have spent most of my time trying to program remotes to do what I want. Mostly, turn all components on and off at the same button push. I've got 3 out of five working right, still need to do more tweaking.
I also noticed this morning the DVR setup still loses aspect ratio setting.

Anyway, Pats game looked good on CBS. I would say it rivaled Comcast, though the grass looked a little weird. (I have noticed the grass weirdness on Comcast as well).
Packers game is looking pretty good on Fox also.
I am pretty pleased with U-Verse so far, though it is only day 3. My annoyances are minor, and are probably due to operator error!
