No Signal HDMI cables TWO previously working Samsung TVs

We have two Samsung TV's, one 50 inch plasma and one is a 48 inch LCD. Both were connected to Cisco stbs (the DVR black box is on the Plasma). Both were connected with HDMI cables and have worked fine for about 6 months. We went out of town one day about a week ago over night and there was bad weather in the area. When we got home neither TV will work on HDMI. The Plasma has 4 HDMI ports, the 48 inch has two. I have tried the soft reboot on all of the ports on both TV's. I have tried every suggestion in this forum that I have been able to find. My only choice is to use component cables at this time. I have called for tech support, and they have done the troubleshooting over the phone, rebooting the box, the whole nine yards, I really don't know what else to do. I have spent hours on this in the past week trying every suggestion I can find.  Any more suggestions, or am I missing something. Thanks so much. It is so annoying to have purchased these new TV's with all these HDMI ports and not be able to use them. By the way, we do have HD service.

debugdiva - Unlikely two cables failed, but you might try the at another location.

Be good if you could find another HDMI source to try on the TVs.

Does the HDMI work on any of the STB menus?

Seems most likely the STBs went south, but it would bebest if you could demonstrate that the TVS are OK.

HDMI works on both from DVD players. I can try Android tablets, too. Like I said the component + audio works. I have two other TVs but they have always been on component cables, and do not HDMI ports. If you disconnect the cable the error changes from No Signal to check cable connection. It is just so weird that it happened on two TVs on the same day after 6 months of trouble free service.

If the HDMI works on other devices I would call for new STBs.

If you press menu or guide etc. does it appear on the TV? I know it still is not any good, but it might indicate the problem is deep within the STB.

There may have been some kind of software change recently. I have been getting those TV signal lost screens - Just tonight I saw a new similar one about the HDMI connection, which made no sense.

I had a similar situation with my Dad's cable box. After replacing the box, it still didn't work. I couldn't understand what was going on because his DVD player was working fine. What it ended up being was the HDCP stopped working. So any device with HDCP would not work through the HDMI connections.

That is what I was getting to asking if the menus were ok. If they display, then it would be an HDCP issue. STB swapping would be require to see if it is the STB or TV. Or, swap to another TV if one is available.
