Just turned on the TV in the living room and all I get is a snowy picture with a "No signal" message on the screen. The router has a green flashing light as it always has when the power is on. The U-verse box power on/off button is green. There is no blue light which is usually lit when the power is on. I tried holding the power button in for 10 seconds hoping to reboot the system but nothing happened. My U-verse in the bedroom works just fine.
Anyone have any thoughts on this problem. I hate to go to the my last alternative which is calling AT&T.
Thanks for any help you can give.

I was attempting to play a DVD and all of a sudden I got the message "no signal" on the tv, and my remote seems to be frozen. I've performed the troubleshooting in the manual, but my tv does nothing, just says "no signal". The tv in the main room of the house is fine. The tv with the above problem is in our bedroom.
I called 1-800-ATT-2020 and was not able to get assistance, and wasn't able to talk with a "real person".

Disconnect the DVD player and see if that helps, then take the Uverse remote, press TV at the top and press TV/Video until you find the input Uverse is on, then press ATT at the top and everything should work OK.![]()

It sounds to me like you are on the wrong input, and by the static you are mentioning, it sounds like you are on the television's coax in input (for antenna or cable input), and by the sounds of it, it sounds like nothing is connected to the coax input, and the television is trying to tune a nonexistant analog channel, hence the static
When you mention that you aren't seeing a blue light that you usually see when the STB is on, that blue light means the STB is outputting in either 720p or 1080i HD, with component cables connected, and the STB set for 720p or 1080i, the blue light will always remain lit, with HDMI, the blue light will go out when the STB can no longer see the TV (which is when the TV is off or on a different input)
What is happening in your case, is you are on your coax input, and being there is nothing connected to your coax in, and the tuner is trying to pick up a nonexistant analog channel, so all you will see is static, the television itself notices there is no signal, hence the "No Signal" message, being that your TV is on that coax input, your HDMI input is not currently active, therefore the STB can not notice the TV, hence there not being a blue light
In order to be able to view U-verse again, change your input settings to HDMI, HDMI1, or similar, as soon as you change your input to HDMI, the blue HD light should come back on and you should be able to see the STB from the TV

Unplug the HDMI cable, reboot the U-Verse box by unplugging it and plugging it back in, and wait about 5-10 minutes. At the end of that time, plug the HDMI cable back in.
Post back and let us know what happens.

What kind of blue screen are you getting? Like a plain "No Input" blue screen or the U-verse STB/DVRs blue idle waves/ripples? Just saying that the screen is blue is too vague
If it's just a plain "No Input" blue screen from the TV, then try out what SomeJoe suggested (unplug HDMI cable, power cycle DVR/STB, wait 5 to 10 mins, reconnect HDMI cable), is this a known working HDMI port? Does it work with another HDMI device like a DVD upscailer, Blu-Ray player, PS3, HDMI equipped laptop, etc.?
If you are getting the blue waves/ripples, then you are getting a signal from the DVR/STB, and the problem is the DVR/STB is either off or idle/screensaver mode, in which case, just press OK on the remote to wake it up, if the blue HD light is still not on, just go to the aspect ratio settings and select either 720p or 1080i

Ok my problem is similar, but different!
I have a Vizio 32 inch LCD and have a Motorola HD DVR...A VIP1200...Hooked up with a HDMI cable to the number 1 HDMI port on the TV. I have had the TV for a couple of weeks, and about a week ago I turned the TV on and got the "Receiving Data" message from the TV...then the "No Signal"...from the TV not the ATT box. Then I unplug the HDMI cable and replug it in a couple of times and wait...and for the next 10-15 minutes the message go away, I sit on a black screen, and then the fun starts!
I start to get a picture, albeit a flashing picture, of whatever channel the UVerse is set to...the bottom half has actual digital "snow" while there's a flashing picture on top and no sound. as the flashing gets steadier and steadier, the picture stays in and the snow goes away, then the sound appears. after about 10 minutes of this, the picture is fine.
I have tried 3 different HDMI cables...a 7.99 cent job from Audiovox/RCA, a 40 dollar number from Monster, and a 28 dollar cord made by Vizio specifically for Vizio TV's...the only cable that actually works? the 7.99 RCA (the brand) cable...the other 2 didnt do a thing...sat on "No Signal) for 20 minutes and did squat.
It seems like the box is trying to send info to the TV and TV is just taking time to "catch up"...and it DOES eventually work and work fine...Any suggestions? I can take pics and email to anyone who wants to see what it actually does..Although I have found no online with my actual problem, just similar symptoms...
Any help anyone has would be appreciated!
Thanks

Have you tried unplugging the HDMI, then plugging it back in; then do a Reset of the box with the HDMI plugged in:
OK button + Up button + Down button on front of UV box
Once you get the picture back up on the screen, do you have the UV box set for 720p or 1080i?
Options > System Options > Aspect Ratio

In a short answer...yes. Have unplugged and replugged the HDMI in 20 times. Thought I had the problem fixed last night when I turned off the CEC function, but I woke up this morning to the same issue.
And I have the picture set for 720p...since the TV is only a 720p to begin with...getting frustrated....

Here are couple of thoughts.
1. Is it possible that you have a bad television? Have you contacted the place you bought the tv and tell them about your problem? Have yout tried using one of the other connections on the stb just to make sure the problem isn't the tv, such as the component connection, or the composite connection?
2. Try connecting another stb to the television using the hdmi cables.
If you don't get a picture when you connect the other stb do this. And I read where you did something similar. While the tv and stb are on, disconnect the hdmi cable from the stb. Then press and hold the power button on the stb until the lights blink. Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hdmi cable to the stb.

You may just have to go with Component cables and skip the HDMI. ![]()

Noticed you mentioned you tried HDMI port 1. Since most 32" Vizio LCD's (720p) have 2 HDMI ports on the back did you try HDMI 2 to see if that made any difference? Also if it has HDMI inputs on side try one of those.
If this doesn't solve your problem you may have to go with component cables as Spd & RC suggested. Component video cables will still give you a good HD picture.
Note: realize your model # may not be the same one in the link. Regardless you should still have 2 HDMI ports on the back but may not have them on the side of the set.

Have tried to hook the STB up with both RYW rca cables and regular Coax cable and it worked fine. Just not as good of a picture as with the HDMI. Thats the frustrating thing...the HDMI, once it works, looks AWESOME! Im watching a hockey game now and it looks great! Even though it only 720p, it still is clear and colorful and sharp and just really good.
I have also tried both HDMI ports--this Vizio (the e320vl) has just the 2 hdmi ports--not any on the side...i am just letting it go through its thing when I start it up...takes about 10 mins, then its fine...
would the component cables look as good as the HDMI? I think about investing in them if i thought it would look as good as the HDMI..
Have been told by a friend who has friends that have worked for both Charter Cable and ATT its some setting in the STB that needs to be adjusted to up the data transfer rate...of course im not going to open my box up, but has anyone heard of/have any input on this? Would love to hear someone's opinion of this....
Thanks for all the feedback!

Component looks excellent and only difference I notice is closed-captioning is not quite as sharp (most people don't use it), and blacks are not as black (not that big of a problem). I actually had to do manual calibration to make the HDMI picture a little lighter.
One TV that I'm using HDMI on full-time now is cutting out now and then, but not often, so I'm trying to stick with it. 720 as well, only 1 HDMI port.
With the HDMI on this TV, the remote commands on the STB have become slower (straight Ethernet to the RG). This particular STB has a slight delay now when turning on. Neither of those were issues before when using Component.

I turned on the TV then accidently hit the CH/PG +/- button instead of the Volumn +/- button. Now I have a blue screen and No Signal! message. How do I get the TV back to the channel to recieve signal?
I tried resetting the reciever by holding the power button in for 10 seconds hoping to reboot the system but nothing happened. I also tried unplugging the reciever but still the same results.
Anyone have any thoughts on this problem. I hate to go to the my last alternative which is calling AT&T.

It sounds like you either killed power to your TV or changed the setting on your TV.
Verify that the TV itself (NOT the Uverse box) is on and set to whatever setting is required (HDMI/Composite/etc) to get the Uverse signal.
On one of my TVs there's a "Source" button on the TV remote and on another it's "Input".

If the U-verse receiver is connected to the TV using a coax cable, tune the TV to channel 3.
