We have had U-verse TV for several weeks, and it works great except that the screen kept going black for a few seconds, then a blue screen with the scrolling message " Press OK to watch U-verse TV". I made several calls to AT&T U-verse TS, all I got was them telling me to Reboot the system, check all connections, and other things to try; however, none of them solved the problem. I finally got someone higher up in TS that told me that the message "Press OK to watch U-verse TV" is normal. After 6 or 8 hours with no input, the DVR Receiver goes into a power saving or sleep mode. We have 3 TVs and it happens on all 3.
Problem solved!
Another problem is our system has re-booted itself several times, and I was told that this is an ongoing problem that the AT&T Engineers are trying to resolve.

The only time my RG reboots is after an update/upgrade. I had an RG that was rebooting every 2 or 3 minutes. I called TS and the tech who came out replaced it with a new one. If you are having trouble getting the help you need from TS send David a PM he is an ATT Community Manager on the forum. He will get you to the proper person/dept. to resolve your issues.

Thank you for the information. We had DIRECTV before changing to AT&T, and they scheduled downloads and updates at about 2:00 AM so TV viewing would not be interrupted. I think U-verse should look into that.

For the most part the usually rollout update/upgrades over night. But I have seen some go through at different times in the day. If it keeps happening send Alex a PM.

I found out that if I push the button to turn it on and hold it down a few seconds, the OK screen does not appear. Can't undertstand why, but it works now!

Are you referring to your STB? If you press and hold the power button on the STB that will cause it to do a soft reboot. You should be able to press the power button and release it and you will not get the "OK" screen. Your Uverse remote should also turn on your tv and STB simultaneously when you press the power button. After 8 hours of inactivity the STB will go into a semi-standby mode at which time the bluse screen and "OK" prompt will be displayed. That is a normal function.
