Just go 2 beats into the segment, press 'play' and that 'jump back' you're referring to will bring to back
right to the start of that segment. ![]()

Yes. That's what I do. But when viewing a game, you're fast forwarding into the next play. Essentially, seeing the play. Which is what I don't want.
I know it sounds trivial, but I'm asking anyway.

Then figure how many FWDs (they won't buffer) you need to get to just before it starts again and do
it that way. That way you don't see a bit of the play beforehand. ![]()

I found that if you hit pause instead of play, it pauses where you hit it instead of jumping back 10 seconds. That has worked well for me so far.
That's a great tip. I've been frustrated with the UVERSE skip ahead/back buttons. It's obvious that anyone who uses them would want them to be precise and consistent, but they're not. I used to have DISH, and I was like a DVR ninja with those buttons. Skip ahead was almost exactly 30 seconds and skip back was 10 seconds. Fringe goes to commercial saying it will be back in 100 seconds? No problem. That's three forwards and two backs. And they buffered, so I could go click-click-click-click-click and it was right there for me nearly instantly.
With UVERSE, it's a guessing game. The skip forward it too long (~43 seconds) to skip to the next play in football. So I tried the old skip back (~7 seconds) once or twice and THEN skip forward. Somehow this doesn't work either. It always ends up skipping forward into the next play. Why?
AT&T: I want to become a UVERSE DVR ninja. Please give me the tools to do so.

Came from DirectTIVO and had buffered 30 sec immediate skips. I really miss that. It is very hit or miss with UV. 30 sec on NFL is about perfect for skipping through a game without hardly missing a play. Even better for commercials... I loved you could hit it 4 times on TIVO and miss 4 commercials immediately. I would be somewhat satisfied if they just changed the 40 sec ff to a buffered 30 sec ff. Don't think we'll get immediate skip back.

Call Microsoft and ask them why they changed it, another better idea. ![]()

I'm not sure if this is the correct post, but I'm irritated by the lack of control of the fast forward operation of my Uverse remote control. With Directv, I was able to fat forward frame by frame. I could pause, then hit the forward button as many times as I wanted to jump ahead one frame at a time for closer detail. I can't get my Uverse remote to do this. If I pause then hit the forward button, it starts going forward and continues unless I pause again or play. I don't have the same control. Is there a way to go ahead one frame at a time with this remote control???
