The Uverse remote on our non-dvr STB has started to act strangely. It never got along well with my Vizio TV (muting, turning it on and off, and only turning the volume up) but now it has stopped communicating with the TV at and, more strangely, functions for the STB are no longer working (the "previous channel" button does nothing when I push it - no lights no anything). I have swapped batteries and I can call up the guide and change channels and such. But, that is it. Anything suggestions?

After that, program the remote for the TV and check if it helps.
Programming Remote control for Television, Similarly, if using a different device use the associated mode key instead of TV. eg. (DVD/AUX)
a. Press and hold the TV key on the remote control.
b. Without releasing the TV key, press and hold the OK key.
c. Release both the TV key and the OK key.
d. All four mode keys will flash twice to indicate programming mode.
e. Enter the code matching the model of television. Attempt the Power and Volume functions to ensure the correct code has been entered. If not working repeat the process with the next code.
Here are the codes for VIZIO standard TV's:
Vizio Television 1343, 1018, 1004, 0178, 0502, 0627, 1756, 1758, 0128, 0117, 1017, 1078, 0030, 0056
VIZIO HDTV 1004
Here's a tip: If you have a new TV, check the codes from right to left, if it's old, from left to right.
Hope this helps!

This issue also occurs when the batteries in the remote are going. Try new batteries also.
