Remotely increasing DVR Capacity?

Just upgraded to HD and called customer service to ask about getting a higher capacity DVR. The rep transferred me to "Tier 1" support. But, before she did that, she said that my DVR was set for "standard capacity" and she changed the setting to "high capacity" and said that I should see an increase in my recording capacity now that she changed the setting. Is that even possible? Can they change the recording capacity of my DVR remotely?

I have never heard of that. The restriction is the size of the hard drive in the DVR. That cannot be changed remotely.

Yep. That's what she said. I even specifically asked her to clarify, because it didn't make any sense to me, and she repeated that she was changing the settings for my DVR and that I should now see an increase in recording capacity.

The only way I got an increase in recording space was to have my dvr replaced with a 2250.
