Uverse installation yesterday went very well. All is working perfectly except our slingbox when attempting to view from outside our local network. Slingbox works perfectly from inside our local network. I've followed the procedure to make it visible from outside the network as described in other threads. I also have the TwoWire page (problem #151) but that seems out of date. Our RG already had Slingbox as a listed application to which I applied the IP address of our slingbox. When looking at the details, the appropriate port (5001) is open via TCP. The slingbox itself is definitely setup to use port 5001. So I am stumped. I do not have any part of my existing network in DMZ plus mode, as we replaced our router with the RG, and it's working great. All other parts of our network including a wifi bridge, mac airtunes streaming to airport express boxes, etc. is all working perfectly. Help is appreciated!

Hi! I've been using my slingbox with U-verse successfully for 14 months. If you post details about what kind of OS you're running that might be helpful for some of us.
Try temporarily stopping any firewall running on the client computer(s) you're using and see if that helps. That's caused issues for me in the past.
Let us know whether that makes any difference. I hope you figure it out soon!

Something else to try if you haven't already (though admittedly I'm grabbing at straws on this one): try resetting the RG. Wait for it to return fully. Then power down your slingbox for 30 seconds and restart it. Verify the IP address, etc., in the RG setup screens, then try again.

Slingbox is not attached to a computer (all of our computers are macs) but attached via cat5 and a gigabit switch to one of our stb boxes. This cat5 line is directly plugged into the RG. Slingbox works perfectly within all parts of my LAN, but not reachable from outside via internet. It also worked perfectly from outside my LAN with my old router (which supported UPnP).

Hey, Don,
One thing I just remember. When I switched to U-verse I had to Remove my Slingbox from the SlingPlayer application on both of my Macs and reinstall it. Be sure to note the Slingbox ID prior to doing this, and choose "Slingbox ID" if asked whether to use that or Direct Connection.

Well, it's working now. I put everythng in the RG back to default, and did the same on the slingbox. Now it IS visible from the internet via iphone.
