USB port - how do you use it?!

There is a USB port on the cable box. How can it be used? There doesn't seem to be any instructions regarding the use of these! Is it used for loading something into the box, can it be used to with a USB drive to store something that has been recorded, or is it used to connect a computer for viewing internet on the tv? If it can't be used for anything, why is it there?

The USB port can be used for the optional Point Anywhere Remote. Other than that, it has no other current U-verse function.
