So is AT&T's U-verse service already VDSL2 or is that something they are implementing next year to boost speeds?

Also, is 2Wire's new HomePortal iNID i3800V outdoor residential gateway going to be implemented with all existing customers when available (replacing our current indoor 2Wire gateways) or will it only be installed for new customers?

I know the DSLAM can be upgraded to VDSL2 through a software upgrade, but I am not sure about the current RG. I heard that AT&T is using more of a hybrid between VDSL and VDSL2 at the moment though, so it might be easier to do than we think.

The iNID is something of a mystery as AT&T has not said anything other than acknowledging they might use it in the future.

I showed your pic to the tech here yesterday and he said that the upper part of that iNID has like circular spools of fiber in it; he said it would be as if thinking of a film reel.

But when I mentioned that prewired FTTP subdivision you told me about, he knew the name but didn't seem to think they had it yet. And I remember the guy in Houston that posted saying he did have it and was awaiting install (so maybe the installer meant he hadn't done any there yet).

Bridgeland struck a deal with AT&T way back in the summer of '06 to be the first (if not one of the first) communites to get U-verse.

They have re-arranged the Bridgeland site and I can't find it on their site, but here is one of AT&T's press releases: http://www.att.com/gen/press-room?pid=5097&cdvn=news&newsarticleid=22348

I know there are some pictures of the ONT that shows the fiber loop he was talking about, but I have to get to a class so I will look for it later.

If it has fiber, that would be an ONT not an iNID.
