I have noticed recently, that I have to turn the volume level indicator way up when playing back a dvr recording. When I am just watching TV, it seems the 28-30 range is adequate, but with a recording I am having to push it up around 50 just to be able to hear it. This just seemd to start in the last week or so. I saw an entry about setting the volume on the STB on the How To section that I am going to try when I get home today, but if anyone knows of anything else to try, I am all ears.

It has been my experience that connecting the audio out from the stb to my tv has produced good volume levels of my recorded programs. If you are using the coax output from the stb to your tv I would recommend switching to component which is the red green and blue output along with the red and white audio outputs. Or the composite which is the svhs or single video output or the yellow rca out along with the red and white audio outputs to the tv.
