Now I've noticed that instead of staying at the 15-17% DVR space graph, it now goes all the way to 3%!

Yes, that is the latest software update which is still being rolled out market by market. It is designed to address a number of bugs. It also changes how the available DVR space graph is calculated.
I haven't noticed receiving the "TV has jumped to live TV" message since I received the update about 2 weeks ago.

It happened again last night. TV shuts down, but power light is on, then picture start flickering on and off. Seems to happen every other day. Weird! I was just about to manually shut down/reboot using the DVR power button, when it did it itself.
I'm going to try switching from HDMI to components. Don't know if that will make a difference, but worth a try.

That sounds like a different issue, and not the "TV has jumped to live TV" message that's being discussed in this thread.

Yeah, sorry about that. I'm just getting frustrated with all the stuff that's been happening lately. I might have to start a new thread about this problem with U-verse.

We've been using the new DVR (2250) and have not experienced the "Jumped to live TV" problem so far.
Coincidence? I'm not sure. I hated losing all my recordings (4 years worth) but it's nice to have the newer, larger HD, smaller unit.
Aside: I took the old DVR to the UPS store and the guy INSISTED that they don't send the power cord back to ATT. I knew I should keep my old remote. He said they handle about 40 a week and they never send the cords back.
I told Darrin that if ATT tries to charge me, I'm blaming him. ![]()

That would be a good idea so that we don't get more confused than what we already are. LOL

Since my DVR was swapped out again, back to the VIP 1225, no more "tv has jumped to live tv" message. No problems of any kind for 2 days now.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed. ![]()

I have the latest software 2.1.2295.10. and I read this thread and said "Boy, I'm glad I don't have that problem". I turned on the Green Bay-Detroit game and when I tried to back up I got the problem "jumped to real time". Maybe it's ghosts.
I have had UVerse for three years. I loved it for the first 2 1/2 years and never had a service call. The last 6 months 2 service calls for pixelation which have been cured but now I get "loss of tv signal" sometimes on the DVR box although the the display shows the Guide information. If I have a recording scheduled it doesn't recordt and I have to reboot the STB.
And now this "jump to real time thing". Who can I send a letter to at least get my name on the list of people threatening to go back to TWC? I really don't want to do this but the software is terribly flawed.

I haven't seen it for weeks either, since whenever it was I first posted about it.
Did you try pulling the plug at the back, wait for 30 sec. and plug back in? That will usually clear up most glitches.

I saw it for the first time last night after midnight. I was watching a premium channel when it happened. As I stated, I think there is some kind of rollout of an update/upgrade regionally. Spd hasn't seen the problem for a while and I saw it for the first time last night.

Actually I saw it today while switching to another channel while I had been toggling between 2 specific channels for awhile 1124/1525. A 2 line message about jumping to live TV came up when I plugged in 1108. It wouldn't do it when I tried it again. ![]()

Seeing this today for the first time as well. I'm running 2.0.26496.12.
And like others, I see it when I pull up the guide, but not unless I first enter a channel number to change the display of the guide. Then when I hit exit, I get the TV has jumped to live TV about a minute later, and like others, there's nothing being recorded.

When Skeeterintexas started this thread, this is the issue that she reported:
This has happened more than once: I pause live TV on a STB for a short period of time....maybe 10-15 mins. When I unpause it and try to resume where I left off, it will jump to live TV with message saying "TV has jumped to live TV..." and then something else which I can't remember and I miss part of the program. This does not happen on the DVR. Just the STBs.
I know that there's a 1 hr. buffer on the DVR but what about the STBs? Has anyone else experienced this and why is it happening?
The jump to live TV occurred when she had paused live TV and attempted to resume from the pause point, and the jump caused her to miss part of the program. This was also the situations on several occassions when it happened to me. I do not recall seeing this happen since I received the new firmware update about 3 weeks ago.
The last couple of posts in this thread mentioned receiving this message when live TV had not been paused and no programming was missed. For those others who have seen this message, has it occurred to you when live TV was paused and as a result you missed part of the program?

Ok, good. Is it still having when you pause or rewind live TV?

It seems like the more people who call in about this issue, the quicker they can forward it on to their technical gurus who can push out a fix.

It hasn't happened for about 1.5 weeks or so. For about a period of 3 weeks, it was doing it almost every day while I had live TV paused.

So you did a disaster recovery? Did you lose recordings as a result?

I experienced this issue twice under the 2.0.x firmware. In my two cases, it was similar to what has been described -- I was watching live TV that was delayed via the DVR's buffer, and then during a DVR operation (in my case it was during FF/Play to skip commercials), the buffer disappeared and the viewing returned to live TV with the "TV has jumped to live TV" message. As a result I lost the portion of the program that had been buffered. Both of my instances occurred on the DVR unit, not on an STB.
I have not seen this issue again since the upgrade to the 2.1.x firmware.

Ok, cool. Your disaster recovery did not result in any programs being lost.
