If an LCD, check for these settings on your advanced settings on the menu: Dynamic Contrast, Auto or Ambient Brightness, Energy Saver or Auto Iris. If you have any of them or similar ones try turning them 'off'. All of these can cause Uverse remote problems w/an LCD. ![]()

I have a Panasonic plasma too, but don't have any remote problems although the manual warns about possible IR interference, but my DVR sits to the left just in front of the screen to avoid any interference. Now some plasma users have found relief by putting a small piece of masking tape just to the right of the red recording lite which covers the IR receiver. Hope this might help your remote problems. Wouldn't hurt to call in and ask what they can do for you because of the troubles you've had, been a few reports they get something just for asking. ![]()

Have you replaced the batteries in the remote control? Weak batteries could also lead to unreliable remote control signals.

thank you mibrnsurg for your reply i have turned those settings off that you mentioned its a panasonic plasma tv and can you believe the advice the techs gave me!!!!
Well....I have yet to encounter a tech person who actually has UV service in their homes. They are company trained and all I have encountered have been well meaning and very motivated to help. However.....that said....nearly everyone here on this forum is a UV subscriber and we are not AT&T employees.....just customers like you. The truth is.....new problems are rare. Nearly every one has come up before and quite a few of us regulars have personally encountered them. So this is the place to come with a question like yours. I hope the suggestions you received helped solve your problem.
Some years back we had a similar problem with remote control of a competitor's box. It turned out that bright fluorescent lighting in the same room was causing interference with the IR sensor in the receiver box. Turn off that light and all worked fine.
Did Chris' suggestion fix things?

I've noticed that some or many of the tech's have been very helpful ,but one even told me that he never expected that he'd have to tell people how their own tvs and other systems work on a regular basis .. The last tech (family mermber) even said he had to get the owner's manual from his customer and read it on how to turn off certain settings like this.
so is this prooblem fixed or are you still haveing the issues ??

Hello,
Try the following, it worked for me and solved my remote misfire problems. Yes, including occasional muting when I hit the Info button. My problem was caused by spurious IR eminations from my 42 in Panasonic plasma HDTV. How do I know it was my HDTV causing the problem? I took a coax cable and attached an old 13in SDTV to my DVR. I turned off my HDTV set and looked at TV using the old lo def set. I immediately noticed that the DVR was repsonding crisply and I had NO remote misfires. In short, things were back to normal. Turned off old set and turned on HDTV and was back to remote misfires. Now, the problem may not be your HDTV, but this is one way to find out.
I solved my probem by buying a HotLInk Pro IR repeater from Amazon.com, Easy instal and now I my have a misfire maybe once a month, but everythng works faster on the DVR. I'm now quite happy with U-verse. Would have canceled my service if I had not solved my remote problem.
Roger
